Meet the Team Cisco Identity Intelligence (CII) helps organizations defend against one of today’s fastest-growing security challenges: identity-based attacks.

By bringing together identity activity from providers, applications, and security systems—including Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Duo, and Cisco ISE—CII creates a unified, real-time picture of users, devices, applications, and behaviors. As a key part of Cisco’s Identity Threat Detection and Response strategy, the platform helps security teams detect suspicious activity, investigate threats, and act with confidence.

Join us to build thoughtful, high-impact experiences that help customers protect their most critical assets. Your Impact As a Software Engineering Technical Leader and hands-on individual contributor, you will shape how the team turns product ideas into high-quality customer experiences.

You will provide deep frontend leadership while remaining actively engaged in day-to-day design, implementation, debugging, testing, and code review. You will define and evolve the frontend architecture and UI experience across React, TypeScript, GraphQL/Apollo, shared UI patterns, routing, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.

You will help the team prototype quickly, translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready work, and use product analytics to understand adoption and guide iteration. This role will also help establish scalable micro-frontend integration patterns and frontend-specific standards for AI-assisted development.

Your work will raise the quality, consistency, and velocity of contributions from across the team while reducing dependence on a small number of engineers for critical frontend architecture decisions. Key Responsibilities Design, build, test, debug, and maintain high-quality, scalable customer-facing applications using React and TypeScript.

Lead frontend technical design and architecture decisions, including component and shared UI patterns, state management, routing, performance, accessibility, testing, and long-term maintainability. Partner closely with product managers and designers to rapidly prototype, iterate on, and validate customer experiences, even when requirements are incomplete or evolving.

Evolve the team’s micro-frontend strategy, including host/remote integration, module federation or comparable patterns, runtime isolation, dependency sharing, ownership boundaries, and deployment expectations. Use qualitative and quantitative product signals to identify adoption issues and partner with product and design to improve feature outcomes.

Create reusable frontend standards, patterns, documentation, and review expectations that improve consistency and make architecture knowledge broadly accessible. Define practical guardrails, workflows, review standards, and quality gates for AI-assisted UI development, ensuring generated and human-written code meets standards for UX, visual quality, accessibility, performance, security, and maintainable structure.

Provide high-quality code reviews, remove delivery bottlenecks, mentor engineers, and raise the frontend craft of full-stack and frontend contributors. Continuously evaluate and adopt tools, techniques, and platform improvements that enhance the team’s development workflow and product quality.

Minimum Requirements 8+ years experience as a hands-on individual contributor delivering production frontend software. Advanced experience building complex frontend applications with React and TypeScript. Experience with GraphQL and Apollo, including data fetching, caching, and client-side state-management patterns.

Experience owning frontend technical designs and making sound day-to-day implementation decisions across testing, debugging, code review, performance, and maintainability. Experience collaborating effectively with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver customer-facing experiences.

Preferred Requirements Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, GraphQL/Apollo, shared UI systems, frontend testing strategy, accessibility standards, and performance tuning at scale. Practical experience with micro-frontend architecture, including module federation, host/remote integration, runtime isolation, dependency sharing, ownership boundaries, and deployment strategy.

Proven ability to use analytics as a product feedback loop, identifying adoption issues and partnering with product and design to improve feature outcomes. Experience rapidly prototyping customer-facing experiences and helping teams validate product ideas before requirements are fully defined.

Demonstrated design judgment and frontend craft, including the ability to evaluate visual quality, interaction patterns, usability, accessibility, and overall product experience. Experience establishing frontend architecture standards and scalable integration patterns across multiple teams, applications, or independently owned frontend surfaces.

Strong practical working knowledge of AWS, Terraform, shell scripting, and the operational practices needed to build, run, troubleshoot, and maintain a secure, reliable sandbox environment. Experience creating guardrails, reusable workflows, review standards, or quality gates for AI-assisted frontend development.

Track record of reducing dependency on individual technical experts by documenting patterns, mentoring engineers, and distributing frontend architecture knowledge across a team. Why Cisco?
