Role Description Form Energy is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Test Software to lead the development of the unified software platform powering our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing ecosystems. This role reports to the manager of the Test SW Platform Team.
As part of this team, you will create new HIL and SIL testbeds, contributing end-to-end across requirements definition, architectural design, and execution, collaborating closely with our Test Infra, Electrical Engineering, Firmware and Software teams.

What You'll Do
- Architect a platform that enables a single test case to run seamlessly across both physical Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and virtual Software in the Loop (SIL) benches Contribute to the requirements definition
- downselection of HIL/SIL tooling alternatives Develop intuitive user interfaces that enable cross-functional engineering teams to interact efficiently with the platform Design robust device drivers to ensure precise control and communication within the HIL system.
- Scale the SIL cloud infrastructure to support advanced battery simulations Troubleshoot complex electrical and software systems, utilizing schematics and test equipment to isolate platform-level issues What you'll bring: Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering
- equivalent 7+ years in software engineering, with a proven track record of building HIL/SIL platforms or similar platforms at the interface of hardware and software Proficiency with python, with a background in object-oriented design and software architecture principles Strong electrical engineering foundations, including the ability to read electrical schematics, debug physical hardware
- work comfortably with low-level device drivers.
