Position Summary Manager - Financial Accounting & Control will be responsible overall delivery of financial reporting and control related centralized services provided by the Finance General Accounting Team to the subsidiaries of the London Stock Exchange Group.
The role is passionate about handling the centralised services provided to the Group, Global processes, continuous improvements, building resilience and working with key parties to on board new activities. The successful candidate will hold a pivotal role in the Finance CoE team and require project management skills, technical skills, and the ability to proactively handle key stakeholder relationships.
Role Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate Fixed Assets accounting in compliance with global accounting policies, procedures, and applicable accounting standards. Identify any risks and process gaps and propose and implement remedial measures.
Work closely with the Financial Controls team to ensure adherence to the Financial Controls Framework. Ensure that the teams meet tight reporting and audit deadlines. Support internal and external audit procedures by providing timely information.
Responsible on boarding new scope and aligning to standard operating model. Ensure that accurate balance sheet controls are in place and the teams are aligned. Gain and maintain an excellent understanding of key business processes. Develop standardised training documents to ensure proper on boarding of new team members.
Design and monitor key performance indicators to measure team performance and report on the same. Build resilience and succession plans for key roles within the team. Liaise with the Finance Systems Support teams in identifying improvements or necessary corrective actions needed.
Support group projects and change management activities. Any other Ad-hoc requirements. Preferred Skills and Experience A Degree in a related field and/ or a Professional Accounting Qualification with a minimum of 6-8 years of post-completion/post-qualification experience.
Essential Experience Strong experience maintaining and managing Fixed Asset Registers (FAR) and ensuring asset master data accuracy. Proven experience in asset capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, disposals, and impairment accounting.
Hands-on experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end fixed asset closing activities. Experience supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of asset-related schedules and documentation. Exposure in SAP and Oracle Fusion related Fixed Assets Accounting and Reporting.
Exposure in large scale ERP migration with specific focus on Fixed Assets. Background in a finance shared services would be an added advantage. Strong background in implementing and monitoring Financial Controls. Good knowledge on technical accounting concepts and principles.
Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues. Must be able to deliver results through effective problem solving and collaboration with others in the team as also across functions. Be able to adapt to evolving business and regulatory environments and manage several priorities.
Willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment. Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience. Attention to detail and accuracy oriented. Ability to work according to UK work hours. Planning and prioritising according to business needs.
Experience in SAP, Oracle Fusion, and Blackline would be an added advantage.
