Work Flexibility: Hybrid or Onsite Director, ED&T – Peripheral Vascular (Irvine, CA, Hybrid) This hybrid role requires a minimum of three days per week on-site in Irvine, CA. Position Summary The Director, ED&T – Peripheral Vascular is responsible for driving measurable business value by partnering with divisional leadership to translate strategic priorities into an outcome-driven digital roadmap.
Serving as the primary technology partner to the business, this role ensures alignment across the division, enterprise functions, and IT to deliver scalable solutions and achieve defined business outcomes. The Director owns end-to-end performance of the division’s technology portfolio across planning, delivery, and operations, ensuring disciplined execution, strong financial stewardship, and reliable service delivery.
Success is measured by enabling commercial and operational performance, including improved sales effectiveness, customer engagement, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making Key Responsibilities Set and communicate an ambitious, clear vision for the division and business units, aligning stakeholders and teams around outcomes, priorities, and measurable value.
Co-own the end-to-end divisional and business unit strategies with divisional and business unit business leads, defining Customer 1A journeys and the measurable outcomes that will define success. Prioritize the portfolio to maximize value by translating business needs into clear requirements, sequencing capabilities/features, and balancing growth, productivity, risk, and customer experience outcomes.
Rationalize demand and resolve priority conflicts across business units, Stryker functions, and geographies, ensuring an integrated roadmap and portfolio plan that protects strategic focus and value delivery. Quantify and communicate business value (e.g., growth, productivity, risk reduction, customer experience) and enable teams to deliver timely outcomes against agreed targets.
Act as the single point of accountability for IT to the division and business units , ensuring delivery to plan, proactively managing risks, and resolving escalations quickly. Represent the division in enterprise governance forums and ensure adherence to global IT service and delivery processes, including operational controls, SLAs, and continuous improvemen Build trusted partnerships with business counterparts by understanding strategy, anticipating market trends, and recommending digital and data solutions that improve performance and competitiveness.
D esign Customer journeys and translate them into delivery backlogs by decomposing journeys into capabilities, data, and platform needs that inform the divisional technology roadmap. Partner across IT to ensure delivery , holding teams accountable through clear agreed targets, transparent reporting, and continuous delivery improvements.
Own delivery of the IT strategy and performance , and lead/divisionally manage BAs and business partners to execute priorities with speed and quality. Collaborate with Application Development leadership and the broader IT organization to remove constraints, balance capacity, and reduce/optimize divisional technology debt.
Lead critical programs and transformations , providing decisive governance, stakeholder management, and escalation leadership to protect delivery and value. Own funding and budget management for the division, ensuring investment governance, ROI/value realization, and alignment to business priorities.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; a degree in Business Administration or Computer Information Systems is preferred. A master’s degree in MIS, an MBA, or a related field is also preferred. Qualifications & experience: 10+ years of experience in business, strategy and IT management, leading strategy, change management and supporting functions.
Strategic thinking with experience managing large-scale roadmaps. Strong communicator and collaborator, able to influence diverse cross-functional stakeholders. Knowledgeable of the current and future technology direction of the industry and aligns strategies with those shifting landscapes.
Energetic and dynamic leadership style. Strong and demonstrated ability to develop partnerships and trust with business leadership to build enterprise IT strategies and program portfolios Build mechanisms to ensure that architecture and harmonization principles are well socialized and followed in harmonizing portfolios Knowledge of strategy frameworks.
Experience transforming an organization and working with a “service model” (segregated roles for business analysis, solution or technical architect, developers, project managers, QA testers, business delivery leads, etc.) including strategic sourcing and vendor management.
Experience helping a business to transform its business and systems (major project, big picture). Knowledge of regulated application landscape in life sciences and current platforms and technologies. Physical & mental requirements: Ability to operate effectively within an IT shared services and service-delivery model.
Ability to understand complex systems and interdependencies, recommend enhancements, and contribute to IT strategy. Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, analytical, change management, and communication skills. Ability to inspire and lead large teams through transformation and sustain engagement beyond implementation.
Executive presence and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Ability to work effectively across functions in a global matrix organization, building successful relationships with business partners, executive leadership, and external customers.
