Producing more than 45 hours of live newscasts every week, ABC7 Eyewitness News is widely recognized for its solution-based journalism and advocacy with legacy franchises Seven on Your Side, and I-Team. ABC7 is a respected and valued community resource, KGO-TV is an ABC Owned Television Station serving San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and the greater Bay Area.
KGO-TV/ABC7, the ABC-owned television station in San Francisco, also serving Oakland and San Jose is seeking an accredited meteorologist or experienced weather anchor to produce and present daily weather forecasts for newscasts, on digital and social platforms.
The meteorologist/weather anchor will use weather software systems to create and present forecasts for various newscasts. This employee will also create forecasts for digital and social platforms and for the KGO-TV/ABC7 24/7 live stream. This is a freelance/daily hire position.
Shifts will be weekday or weekend mornings or evenings, depending on staff vacations. Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience reporting weather on-air. Candidates should have a solid resume reel showing superior on-camera presentation
Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area Required Education: Bachelor’s degree Meteorology degree Preferred Certification: AMS Seal This position is covered under SAG-AFTRA – KGO-TV Newspersons Agreement.
- The Pay Rate for this role is: $415/day + Overtime.
