Role Profile · We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer specialising in Graph Databases and Graph Analytics to join our Resilience Engineering team.

Working with the Engineering Lead, you will design, develop, and operate graph-based data platforms and solutions that enable critical resilience, operational risk, dependency mapping, and control management use cases across the organisation. · You will work closely with engineers, architects, product owners, risk specialists, and business customers to model complex relationships between applications, infrastructure, services, controls, processes, and organisational entities.

Using technologies such as Neo4j, you will help create actionable insights that improve operational resilience, impact analysis, dependency management, and decision-making Key Responsibilities Graph Data Platform Engineering · Build and maintain scalable graph data solutions using Neo4j and related technologies. · Develop graph data models representing applications, services, infrastructure, business processes, controls, risks, and dependencies. · Implement data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment pipelines from multiple enterprise data sources. · Optimise graph schemas, queries, and data structures to support high-performance analytics and visualisation.

Resilience Engineering Use Cases · Support operational resilience initiatives through graph-based dependency mapping and critical service modelling. · Develop solutions for impact analysis, scenario modelling, control coverage assessment, and risk propagation analysis. · Enable identification of single points of failure, concentration risks, and resilience vulnerabilities. · Support regulatory, audit, and governance requirements through accurate and traceable data relationships.

Data Engineering & Integration · Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using the latest data engineering practices. · Integrate graph platforms with enterprise data ecosystems, APIs, data lakes, and operational systems. · Implement monitoring, observability, and automated testing for graph data pipelines.

Collaboration & Delivery · Work closely with Engineering Leads, Solution Architects, Product Owners, and partners to define requirements and deliver solutions. · Contribute to architecture decisions, technical standards, and engineering guidelines. · Participate in Agile ceremonies and support continuous delivery and DevSecOps practices.

Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills Strong experience as a Data Engineer, Software Engineer, or Graph Data Engineer. Hands-on expertise with Neo4j, including Cypher query language and graph data modelling. Experience in implementing graph-based solutions in enterprise environments.

Proficiency in Python, Java or similar programming languages. Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases. Experience building data pipelines using modern data engineering frameworks and tools. Experience working with APIs, data integration patterns, and cloud-native architectures.

Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. Graph & Analytics Expertise Strong understanding of graph theory, network analysis, and relationship-based data modelling. Experience implementing graph algorithms for pathfinding, centrality analysis, clustering, and dependency analysis.

Familiarity with graph visualisation and analytics platforms. Experience applying graph technologies to operational risk, resilience, fraud, cybersecurity, knowledge graphs, or similar domains is highly desirable. Cloud & Platform Experience Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices. Preferred Qualifications · Strong experience supporting operational resilience, risk management, or enterprise architecture initiatives; using graph technologies (Neo4j preferred but not required). · Neo4j certification or equivalent graph technology expertise.

Certification in any other graph technology would also be advantageous · Experience with graph data science libraries and sophisticated analytics. · Understanding of distributed systems, service architectures, and enterprise technology landscapes. · Experience in financial services, regulated industries, or large-scale enterprise environments (preferable, not required) Personal Attributes · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical partners. · Excellent communication and documentation skills. · Curious, collaborative, and delivery-focused attitude. · Passion for using technologies to address business challenges.
