Position Summary CVS Health has an exciting opportunity for an in-house counsel position to join the Litigation Team to assist in advancing the business objectives, interests and image of the company through various litigation activities.

The Senior Counsel will be a member of the CVS Health Litigation Team, managing provider litigation matters for the Aetna business unit. The Senior Counsel will also have certain subject matter and/or administrative responsibilities, depending on their prior experience.

The Senior Counsel will collaborate with clients, colleagues throughout the Legal department, outside counsel, government affairs, and corporate communications, as appropriate. The Senior Counsel will also work directly with external stakeholders, including providers, Employer Plan Sponsors, government agencies, and opposing counsel.

Major Responsibilities Determining litigation strategy regarding assigned cases, managing discovery, arbitrations and court proceedings, participating in settlement negotiations, and interviewing and preparing witnesses for testimony. Manage significant litigation matters in high-profile healthcare industry Work in a team-oriented environment while developing personal practice and reputation with clients Develop as an in-house litigation professional by taking on substantive and administrative responsibilities raising candidate's profile within the CVS Health Legal department.

Managing outside counsel and handling a full case load of litigation matters Required Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of legal/litigation experience. Significant experience managing healthcare litigation matters is strongly preferred. Ability to travel up to 25% Preferred Qualifications Healthcare Legal Experience Prior In-house Legal Experience Experience with government investigations and regulatory work.

Education Bachelors Degree (Required) Juris Doctorate (Required) Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $175,100.00 - $334,750.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.

The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
