Director, SW Product Management
Top focus
Role Description We are looking for a customer and ecosystem-focused software leader to drive platform software and enablement strategy for next-generation Arm technologies. This role sits within the business unit and is responsible for ensuring Arm innovations are translated into software solutions that customers and ecosystem partners can adopt optimally.
You will work across internal engineering teams, Software, product management, OEMs, silicon partners, and broader ecosystem team members to define requirements, shape enablement priorities, and drive readiness across reference platforms, firmware, OS, and tooling.
A key part of the role is ensuring the right balance between internal platform validation and ecosystem-facing upstream enablement, so that Arm technologies are validated early and made available in the software environments that matter to partners.
Reference platforms like simulation, emulation, FPGAs, testchip will be significant vehicles for demonstrating readiness, enabling engagement, and supporting adoption. Responsibilities Establish and guide the approach for platform software, firmware, and reference build enablement across Arm platforms aimed at the Mobile and consumer compute segment.
Engage directly with customers, OEMs, silicon partners, and ecosystem team members to understand requirements, capture feedback, and shape software priorities. Translate market and partner needs into clear software requirements across firmware, platform software, OS enablement, and tooling.
Partner with internal engineering, architecture, and Software teams to align downstream validation with upstream ecosystem readiness. Drive software readiness for reference platforms as vehicles for customer engagement, feature demonstration, and partner enablement.
Help ensure features are supported in the software stacks and release cycles that matter to customers, including Android, Linux, Windows, and associated tools. Build alignment across teams on priorities, ownership, and success criteria for software adoption.
Represent the business unit in ecosystem discussions, partner engagements, and multi-functional planning. Define and lead the strategy for enabling core software, firmware, and reference builds across Arm platforms aimed at the Mobile and consumer compute segment.
Lead the downstream software stack required to validate new technologies across simulation, emulation, FPGA, reference platforms. Drive platform bring-up and feature validation for software environments such as firmware, Linux, Android, Windows variants, and other internal enablement stacks as required.
Translate technology and product roadmap priorities into detailed software requirements, implementation plans, and validation work. Establish end-to-end requirements' traceability across architecture intent, platform implementation, validation achievements, and ecosystem preparedness.
Partner closely with architecture, silicon, firmware, software, and other IP product teams to ensure aligned execution across platform verification and upstream enablement. Create a clear operating model between downstream-first validation and parallel upstreaming, reducing ambiguity, friction, and delivery risk across teams.
Support AFaaS as the integration point for system software, operating environment support services, and ecosystem readiness, ensuring that required components come together on time and with clear ownership. Work with internal and external collaborators to identify gaps in feature readiness across kernel, framework, development tools, monitoring systems, power methodology, and broader ecosystem enablement.
Drive prioritisation and trade-off decisions across multiple feature areas, platforms, and release timelines. Represent software readiness and platform enablement status in planning discussions with senior leadership, partner teams, and ecosystem participants.
Build and scale a balanced team model for reference platform and firmware/platform enablement over time. Required Qualifications and Background Validated experience in software product leadership, platform software, or ecosystem enablement in a customer-facing environment.
Strong understanding of system software, firmware, platform bring-up, or OS enablement. Experience defining strategy and execution for software that bridges early technology validation and productization. Ability to translate technical capabilities into partner value, requirements, roadmap priorities and clarifying ambiguous technical needs into well-defined work.
Strong partner management and multi-functional leadership skills across business and engineering teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to align senior partners around scope, priorities, and delivery models.
Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with Arm architecture, Arm-based SoCs, or Arm platform software. Familiarity with client or compute platform bring-up across pre-silicon and post-silicon environments. Experience with Android upstreaming, kernel enablement, performance tooling, telemetry, power measurement, or compiler/toolchain integration.
Experience leading the transition from prototype or research code into stable, maintainable, customer-ready software. Knowledge of ecosystem enablement challenges for advanced features spanning firmware, OS, tooling, and applications. Experience working with release alignment constraints, such as feature readiness tied to Android or other OS release cycles.
In Return: Help develop products that will define the future of AI compute and define what extraordinary product management looks like in AI infrastructure. You’ll grow as a leader and technical voice — and help ensure Arm delivers the products our customers need today and the platforms that will power tomorrow.
