- Shape how millions of customers discover and shop on Amazon Now, Amazon's Quick Commerce offering live across 8+ global marketplaces. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to own search, discovery, traffic
- a brand new shopping application. Quick Commerce customers expect to find what they need in seconds and receive it in minutes. Discovery decides whether they do. A majority of orders begin at search

- recommendations directly changes what customers find and buy. The platform handles hundreds of thousands of orders per day and is projected to scale to millions of orders per day by year end. You will be the senior engineer anchoring this charter: architecting AI native search and discovery experiences, building traffic entry points across Amazon surfaces
- leading the ground up build of a new application. You will work with Applied Scientists, Product Managers

- AI native discovery for Quick Commerce across 8+ global marketplaces - Lead the technical design and ground up build of a new shopping application - Build traffic and program discovery experiences that bring customers into the store from surfaces across Amazon - Apply GenAI and LLMs to customer facing discovery including semantic search, autocomplete, recommendations
- agentic shopping experiences - Design systems that build once and scale everywhere, enabling rapid expansion to new marketplaces - Drive operational excellence for Tier 1 customer facing services covering availability, latency
- time to detection and mitigation - Raise the engineering bar through design reviews, code reviews
- mentoring engineers across the team - Influence multi team roadmaps and partner with product managers, applied scientists
- partner engineering teams - Grow and mentor SDEs in key workstream A day in the life Your day blends deep technical work with broad influence. You might start with a design review for a ranking change, pair with applied scientists on a relevance model rollout, then unblock an engineer on a new marketplace launch. Afternoons go to architecture for the new application, diving into latency and search quality metrics

- partner teams across Amazon. You set the technical direction others execute against. About the team Tez CX is the customer experience platform powering Quick Commerce across 8+ Amazon marketplaces including India, MENA, North America, EU, UK
- Japan. This role sits in the team that owns discovery: search, browse, traffic

- builds fast and iterates fast.
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
