Position Summary Staff Software Development Engineer to lead the design and delivery of Provider facing scalable, high-impact software solutions supporting enterprise healthcare platforms.
This role will serve as a technical leader and hands-on contributor, driving results, engineering excellence, and cross-team execution across critical initiatives. This position is ideal for a senior engineer who can operate independently, influence across teams, and deliver complex solutions aligned to business outcomes.
Required Qualifications Minimum of 7+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale, full-stack applications across industries with demonstrated practical experience in healthcare, preferably working with Provider focused initiatives Proven expertise in full-stack development, including: Backend: Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Node.js Frontend: React, Angular, TypeScript-based frameworks API integration and design using REST, GraphQL, and microservices-based architecture 5+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures, including modernization of legacy applications into cloud-native services 3+ years of experience with the ability to design and implement secure, high-availability application architectures 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including tools such as Jenkins, Git workflows, and infrastructure-as-code for automated deployments 3+ years of experience with leading complex technical initiatives and cross-functional collaboration, including translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions Preferred Qualifications Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and driving engineering best practices and standards across teams Strong proficiency in database design and data management, including relational and NoSQL technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB) Experience working in Agile environments, contributing to sprint planning, design discussions, and iterative delivery of high-quality software Hands-on exposure to event-driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g., SNS, SQS) for real-time, distributed processing Exposure to accessibility standards (WCAG) and building inclusive, compliant user experiences Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to operate independently and influence across teams Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Post Grad Preferred Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $130,295.00 - $260,590.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
