Primary Responsibilities: The Business Analyst (Associate) will be part of the Agility & Strategic Intelligence team within the Morgan Stanley at Work organization. Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, operations teams, and technology delivery teams to understand business objectives, pain points, manual processes, and expected outcomes.

Conduct structured process discovery through interviews, workshops, observation, and document review; capture current-state and future-state process maps, business rules, data inputs and outputs, exceptions, controls, and handoffs. Translate business needs into clear, delivery-ready artifacts, including business requirements, process definition documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and requirements traceability.

Assess process improvement and automation opportunities by evaluating business value, process suitability, feasibility, dependencies, risks, controls, and expected benefits; support prioritization and business case development. Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and solution delivery teams, clarifying requirements, resolving questions, managing changes, and maintaining alignment throughout delivery.

Support end-to-end delivery for assigned tasks and small workstreams, including backlog refinement, solution walkthroughs, UAT, release readiness, training, implementation, and post-production validation. Coordinate User Acceptance Testing activities, including test planning, scenario and test data preparation, execution tracking, defect triage, business sign-off, and control evidence.

Maintain clear and current documentation, decision logs, RAID items, status updates, SOPs, training materials, control evidence, and support handoffs. Track business outcomes and performance measures for delivered improvements, validate realized benefits, and identify opportunities for further optimization.

Coordinate with onshore/offshore stakeholders on scope, dependencies, blockers, risks, and progress while recommending improvements that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, strengthen controls, and enhance stakeholder experience. The Associate Business Analyst: Balances structured business analysis and delivery support - able to move from problem definition and requirements discovery through UAT and implementation support for well-defined workstreams.

Demonstrates ownership and accountability for assigned deliverables while seeking guidance for complex scope, solution, risk, or control decisions. Builds productive relationships across business and technology teams and communicates requirements, decisions, and trade-offs clearly.

Applies structured problem-solving and strong attention to detail, especially around process accuracy, business rules, data quality, controls, testing, and stakeholder sign-off. Required Skillset 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in business analysis, process improvement, operations transformation, or digital/automation delivery; prior hands-on project delivery experience is required.

Strong requirements gathering, stakeholder interviewing, and workshop facilitation skills with the ability to uncover business objectives, pain points, business rules, exceptions, controls, and dependencies. Strong process analysis and process mapping skills , including current-state and future-state flows, handoffs, decision points, exception paths, and improvement opportunities.

Proven ability to create clear business analysis artifacts , including BRDs, PDDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, traceability matrices, and decision logs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex business processes, identify root causes, evaluate options, and recommend practical improvements.

Experience assessing process improvement or automation opportunities, including business value, feasibility, risk, controls, effort, dependencies, cost-benefit considerations, and expected outcomes. Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing , including test planning, test scenarios, test data preparation, execution, defect triage, evidence, and business sign-off.

Understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery , including backlog refinement, requirements traceability, change control, release readiness, and post-implementation support. Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, architects, QA, product owners, operations, and risk/control partners while translating between business and technical audiences.

Working knowledge of data analysis and reconciliation using Excel , with the ability to interpret data mappings, quality checks, operational metrics, and reports. Basic AI/GenAI knowledge , including practical business use cases, LLM capabilities and limitations, hallucination risks, output validation, responsible use, and data privacy.

Understanding of governance, risk, compliance, and control requirements , with disciplined documentation of decisions, approvals, evidence, and exceptions. Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with stakeholders of varying experience and seniority.

Strongly Desired Qualifications Operational knowledge of Jira and Confluence for requirements, backlog, decision, defect, and delivery documentation. Experience with change impact assessment, stakeholder communications, user training, SOP development, and post-implementation adoption support.

Experience defining business KPIs, tracking benefits, and presenting operational insights using eazyBI, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable reporting tools. Experience in financial services, employee benefit plans, stock plan/equity administration, or client/onboarding operations.

Ability to coordinate with onshore and offshore teams and manage multiple priorities with limited supervision. Preferred Skillsets Basic understanding of equity compensation and employee benefit plans. Advanced understanding of GenAI and LLM capabilities, limitations, and responsible use, with exposure to low-code/no-code agent-building tools and the ability to define business use cases and design simple agents, automations, and human-in-the-loop workflows.

Familiarity with automation concepts and delivery lifecycles , including RPA, workflow, low-code/no-code, and AI-enabled solutions; hands-on development experience is not required. Exposure to leading RPA platforms such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism from a process discovery, requirements, governance, or UAT perspective.

Exposure to Copilot Studio, Power Apps, or similar low-code/no-code platforms. Familiarity with Salesforce, Campfire, or comparable business and workflow platforms. Business analysis, Project Management Professional (PMP), or RPA business analyst certification or a vendor BA foundation credential.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Operations, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in business analysis, process improvement, operations transformation, or digital/automation project delivery.

Practical experience translating business problems into actionable requirements and supporting delivery through UAT, implementation, and benefits validation. Associate-level role requiring independent execution of assigned deliverables; people management or senior technical leadership experience is not required.

Communication Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; capable of clear and concise writing, making presentations to internal audiences, and interacting positively with stakeholders. Ability to explain business processes, requirements, automation, AI, and data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders in practical business terms.

Strong facilitation and presentation skills; able to guide discussions, document decisions, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. Good planning and organizing skills; can estimate, track, and communicate effort, dependencies, risks, decisions, and progress while reprioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
