- Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Database Sales Specialist to lead strategic database adoption and migration initiatives across India's Public Sector segment. As a member of the India WWSO Specialists team, you will be responsible for driving significant revenue growth by helping the largest and most complex public sector and enterprise customers migrate from legacy commercial databases to AWS purpose-built database services. This is a senior individual contributor role requiring strategic thinking, executive relationship management
- the ability to orchestrate complex, multi-stakeholder deals. You will shape the India database GTM strategy, mentor junior specialists
- serve as the voice of the India database business to global specialist leadership. Key job responsibilities
- Own and exceed AWS Database services revenue and pipeline targets for strategic India Public Sector accounts.
- Develop and execute a territory strategy that maximizes database migration and modernization revenue across the India PS segment.
- Lead complex, multi-quarter enterprise deals involving large-scale Oracle and SQL Server migrations, engaging C-suite and IT leadership.
- Build and present executive-level business cases including TCO analysis, risk mitigation, and modernization roadmaps.
- Influence India-level GTM strategy for database services - defining campaigns, target account lists, and partner motions.
- Partner with Database Specialist SAs, ProServe, and Partner teams to orchestrate comprehensive migration programs.
- Serve as the primary escalation point and executive sponsor for strategic database opportunities in the territory.
- Collaborate with global Database GTM leadership to align India priorities with worldwide programs and investments.
- Provide actionable voice-of-customer feedback to product teams on pricing, feature gaps, and competitive dynamics.
- experience in technology related sales, business development or equivalent - 8+ years of technology sales
- 5+ years of technology sales experience - Experience reaching and exceeding sales revenue goals - Knowledge of Data modeling, advanced SQL with Oracle, MySQL
- Columnar Databases at an advanced level - Experience working with, presenting to
- negotiating with C-level executives, IT, lines of business, procurement, finance, legal and internal stakeholders for sizeable commercial/enterprise deals - Experience engaging and influencing C-level executives, both business and technical -
- Experience selling into India Public Sector or large regulated enterprises.
- Experience and demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of database or data warehousing, data sciences and big data processing - Knowledge of about AWS integration and usage - Bachelor's degree
- MBA in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources or related field - AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect
- a similar cloud certification
- Associate's degree or above - Experience hiring and developing sales management teams -
- Deep familiarity with AWS Database portfolio: Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Neptune, ElastiCache, MemoryDB, Keyspaces, QLDB. -
- Experience with Oracle ULA/license optimization conversations and competitive displacement strategies. -
- Established network of relationships within India PS organizations, system integrators (TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL)
