Project Manager, Digital Enablement Innovation starts from the heart. Our Advanced Innovation & Technology (AI&T) teams harness the imagination, courage, and resourcefulness to think beyond what’s currently possible, and create solutions for patients many years into the future.

If you’re an early-stage innovator, then Edwards AI&T team is the place for you to take the next steps in your career. We’ll give you the tools and resources you need to create groundbreaking innovations that shape the future of structural heart technology.

The Project Manager, Digital Enablement will initiate, plan, execute, control, and manage mid-scale digital and software-based innovation programs within Edwards Lifesciences’ early-stage incubator. This role guides digital product concepts from ambiguity to architectural clarity and product feasibility, develops high-level milestone plans, manages program change, coordinates cross-functional stakeholders, and drives disciplined execution, documentation, and continuous improvement to advance novel digital health products that complement Edwards’ cardiovascular devices portfolio.

How you will make an impact: Deeply understand clinical management paradigms, anatomy, and pathophysiology to define clinical unmet needs for patient segments along the care pathway. Actively contribute to the generation, prioritization, screening, and de-risking of new digital product concepts through data-driven methods.

Characterize minimum viable product requirements, market adoption criteria, proof-of-concept strategies, and readiness plans to transition digital product concepts into formal product development under design control, including Software as a Medical Device where applicable.

Develop high-level milestone plans for programs and manage program change in accordance with change management plans to control scope, quality, schedule, cost, and contracts. Manage mid-scale projects and related program activities, ensuring clear project plans, deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and decision points.

Facilitate the creation and approval of business cases within the program and coordinate the sharing and prioritization of resources among projects. Execute program plans, including quality, risk, communication, staffing, and stakeholder engagement plans, and communicate program status and data to maintain accurate and current program information for stakeholders.

Obtain program approval and actively manage program benefits, risks, issues, and trade-offs in partnership with key stakeholders. Drive and coordinate program stakeholder relationships, expectations, and communications, both internal and external to the organization.

Develop, plan, and prioritize impactful projects and activities based on value proposition, clinical needs-driven innovation, and feasibility of new digital products, with accountability for successful completion of project deliverables. Partner with internal technology and business leaders to identify, develop, and execute whitespace product opportunities.

Manage multiple concurrent early-stage software development programs, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and aligned to stakeholder expectations. Identify project and schedule risks, interdependencies, and constraints; develop mitigation strategies, alternative solutions, and issue-resolution plans in collaboration with cross-functional groups.

Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, software engineers, and cross-functional partners on requirements, roadmaps, technical trade-offs, and execution of project deliverables. Communicate program status, risks, decisions, dependencies, and data-driven insights to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders through clear written and verbal updates.

Maintain detailed program documentation, including project plans, timelines, dependencies, executive readouts, decision logs, business case materials, and rationale for key decisions. Support software architecture and transition planning for early-stage digital concepts, factoring in integration feasibility, system-level impact, scalability, translatability, and downstream development needs.

Implement and champion agile methodologies, lean startup principles, and rapid prototyping approaches that balance speed, learning, rigor, and optionality. Own one or more performance objective or continuous improvement activities within the program, PMO, or digital enablement operating model.

Support and drive process improvement, course correction, and course alignment opportunities to improve execution discipline and operational efficiency. Drive project closure activities, including gathering lessons learned, documenting outcomes, and translating learnings into future continuous improvement actions.

Develop and apply project management subject matter expertise, including guiding and mentoring project managers, sourcing and directing contract resources tied to projects within the program, and building expertise in a business process, professional discipline, market, or product area.

Understand and influence processes for data ingestion, normalization, structuring, and use from multiple sources, including device, EMR, cloud, and other digital health platforms. Identify opportunities for leveraging artificial intelligence, cloud capabilities, and data analytics in digital health solutions.

Perform other incidental duties as assigned. What you'll need (Required): Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 8 years of hands-on experience managing projects and/or programs of increasing complexity, or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria.

Experience working with remote or international software engineering teams. Ability to quickly evaluate solution viability, fail fast when appropriate, and translate learnings into pragmatic next steps. Practical knowledge of clinical trials, biostatistics, and evidence generation.

Experience with Software as a Medical Device and regulatory compliance frameworks such as FDA expectations, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304. Understanding of business strategy and the competitive landscape in the medical device, medtech, or digital health industry.
