We are seeking a driven and experienced technical expert in semiconductor components and their applications in networking systems. You will work directly with Cisco design, manufacturing, operations and quality engineering teams, as well as component vendors to ensure the quality and reliability of semiconductor components used by Cisco.
Your Impact As a member of the Component Quality & Technology (CQT) team within Cisco’s Global Supplier Management (GSM) organization, you will drive product reliability and innovation by bridging semiconductor expertise with system-level design.
You will serve as a technical expert, ensuring component excellence through proactive failure analysis, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Failure Analysis: Lead complex investigations into semiconductor component issues.
- Utilize your expertise in power sub-systems, clocking/timing, and system-level integration to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Reliability & Performance Optimization: Leverage advanced data analytics to evaluate component field reliability, identify failure signatures, and assess vendor quality to ensure long-term product performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage regularly with Cisco Business Units, internal design teams, and external suppliers to drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
- Strategic Communication: Translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for leadership, influencing product strategy and fostering innovation within a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electronic design, field application, or failure analysis.
- Demonstrated expertise in analog and digital electronic design and failure analysis, including practical knowledge of power sub-systems, clocking/timing, and system-level integration
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with analog and digital electronics, board design, circuit analysis, PCB layout, and hardware debugging.
- Strong understanding of discrete components and associated PCB attach technologies.
- Proven ability to drive failure analysis to resolve performance and quality issues in complex components and assemblies.
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) technical reviews and manufacturing readiness.
- Competency in failure analysis methodologies such as FMEA, 8D/Corrective Action, Fishbone IFD, Cause and Effect Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and risk assessment.
- Knowledge of thermal design principles and their impact on applications and components.
- Skilled in managing supplier relationships and implementing corrective actions and quality control measures to ensure product reliability and standards.

- 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%
- 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%
- and Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
- For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target.
- Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
