This is the dream role for someone who is looking to deliver high standards within the Distillery Team, which is vital in supporting the distillation and maturation processes at the Diageo Gimli Distillery to ensure the production of high-quality whisky for the Crown Royal Brand.

You will bring with you, excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in leading and managing day to day operations within a team of hardworking operators who are equally passionate about our product. To succeed, you will have post-secondary education, three to five years’ experience in a production environment, are efficient in operating various computer programs, and strong analytical skills.

Organization and time-management skills paired with openness to learn every day, customer oriented and working knowledge of GMP and HACCP and eagerness to work within the site to bring the team together as one, will make you successful. About the Role This position is a key part of the Distillation Team.

A team that supervises and coordinates all activities of unionized workers, including operational, personnel, and administrative tasks. In this role, you will develop, coach, and lead a performance oriented, efficient team-based staff to produce a finished product.

Key outputs of the role are: Ensure efficient production and high standards. Optimize safety, quality, production and cost objectives through employee involvement and team building approach to problem solving, Train and monitor personnel to ensure proper procedures are followed, Communicate production schedules and schedule changes to appropriate departments, Direct the planning and implementation of key initiatives to improve distillery operations, Ensure all monthly safety and food safety audits are completed on time, all corrective action items are completed, and all team members understand the goals Review all production paperwork and ensure it is accurately completed, Ensure production databases are properly maintained and information used for continuous improvement, Monitor part and supplies inventories and place all necessary orders to ensure business needs are met, Manage assigned budget accounts, Generate ideas and implement changes in processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency, improve safety and quality, reduce costs and improve employee engagement, Assist other departments on material quality, package quality and other production related issues, Work with management and staff on productivity, quality and safety initiatives, Diversity statement Celebrating our inclusive and diverse culture is core to Diageo’s purpose of “celebrating life every day everywhere”.
