- Who we are
- At Domino, we build software that helps the largest, AI-driven organizations build and operate advanced data science and AI solutions at scale. Our platform integrates a streamlined model development environment, MLOps capabilities
- novel features for collaboration, reuse
- reproducibility — all of which make data science teams more productive, reduce time to value
- ensure compliance. Our customers — like Johnson & Johnson, GSK, Bristol Myers, UBS, FINRA and the US Navy — are using our software to solve some of the most important challenges in the world, such as developing new medicines, securing our financial markets
- protecting our country. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Coatue Management, NVIDIA, Snowflake and other leading investors, we have been in business for a decade but are still a small team operating with the spirit of a startup. Especially in the world of AI today, we believe that the future is still being invented — and we want to be the ones building it. For more information, visit www.domino.ai
- What we are building
- Domino's Solutions team is the customer-facing engine behind how leading enterprises build, scale
- govern AI-powered applications - solving real business challenges, not just deploying technology. Solutions Engineering earns technical credibility before the deal closes. Customer Engineering
- this role lives, owns everything after: adoption, implementation, expansion
- the kind of delivery that makes customers renew and grow. Global Support and SRE keeps it all running at the level enterprise customers depend on. Three functions, one relentless motion
- a team that earns its reputation on what it ships, not what it scopes.
- What your impact will be
- Own pre-sales as a function, not a set of individual deals: set and enforce the standards for how opportunities get qualified, how POCs get scoped
- how SEs engage — with a single, consistent bar across the team regardless of which GVP or AE is in the room.
- Be the check on the sales process: you have the standing and the judgment to push back on a deal, a scope
- a timeline when it doesn't meet the bar — even when that's an uncomfortable conversation with a GVP or a top seller.
- Coach and develop the SE team: you sit close enough to the opportunities to give real, specific feedback — on technical approach, on deal strategy, on what a customer actually needs — not just process oversight from a distance.
- Bring enough technical fluency to ask the hard question before the customer or the SE gets there: you don't need to build the model, but you need to know when the architecture, the POC design
- the technical claim doesn't hold up.
- Partner as a peer with GVPs and account teams: you have the presence and the sales acumen (not just the technical credibility) to shape how a $5M+ enterprise deal is qualified, resourced
- run — and to hold your ground when priorities compete.
- Build the operating rhythm for pre-sales: capacity allocation, opportunity prioritization, and the recurring cadence that keeps SE time going to the deals that deserve it — and away from the ones that don't.
- Recruit and build the bench: as the team scales, you're identifying gaps, hiring against them, and building a pre-sales org that can hold its own against enterprise competitors.
- Be a discerning voice on deal quality: you can tell the difference between a deal worth the team's time and one that isn't, and you say so — with a recommendation, not just a red flag.
- What we look for in this role
- 8+ years in enterprise, solution-selling pre-sales or sales engineering, with direct experience on complex $5M+ deals — you know what real enterprise sales cycles demand.
- People leadership experience is required: you've built, coached, and managed a technical or pre-sales team, and you know how to develop talent, not just direct it.
- An operational builder at heart: you define process where none exists, hold people to it, and don't let "how we've always done it" survive contact with a better way.
- Presence that holds up in the room: you can stand toe-to-toe with a GVP or an enterprise seller and not get steamrolled — this role sets the bar on rigor, and needs someone who can enforce it under pressure.
- Technically conversant, not technically deep: you understand what's possible and plausible in AI/ML delivery well enough to be respected by the SE team and to catch a shaky technical claim — you're not expected to be the most technical person in the room.
- Sharp, discerning judgment on opportunity quality: qualification, technical fit, and deal health are things you evaluate critically, not rubber-stamp.
- No vertical expertise required — your edge is operational and sales rigor, not domain specialization.
- Comfortable with travel and heavy customer-facing time; East Coast location preferred.
- What we value
- We strongly believe in the value of growing a diverse team and encourage people of all backgrounds, genders, ethnicities, abilities, and sexual orientations to apply
- We value a growth mindset. High-performing creative individuals who dig into problems and see the opportunities for success
- We believe in individuals who seek truth and speak the truth and can be their whole selves at work
- We value all of you that believe improving is always possible. At Domino, everything is a work in progress – we can do better at everything
- We emphasize an environment of teaching and learning to equip employees with the tools needed to be successful in their function and the company
