  • Job Title: Aegis Computing Infrastructure Engineer Travel: Continental US * * * The Opportunity: You’ll be a member of the Aegis Test Team, responsible for integration testing and maintenance of the Aegis Computing Infrastructure (ACI) portion of the Aegis Weapon System on DDG 51 Flight III Class ships under construction at Bath Iron Works. Responsibilities:
  • Set up and configure ACI hardware and software to support testing of the ship’s Combat System.
  • Operate and maintain Servers, Switches, and Storage Area Networks to support testing of the ship’s Combat System.
  • Troubleshoot to isolate system errors.
  • Review system logs on a periodic and as required to support troubleshooting of system anomalies.
  • Review Test Procedures for discrepancies.
  • Document any identified Test Procedure, element, or system problem.
  • Provide element status reports as required to cognizant individuals and organizations.
  • Support Ship’s Force familiarization with operation and maintenance of ACI equipment

Qualifications

  • Required:
  • A BS in an applicable technical field or 4+ years of US Navy experience as a Fire Controlman – AEGIS.
  • Knowledge of networks and LINUX/UNIX system administration
  • Possess strong analytical skills and ability to communicate clearly in written and oral formats
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and with team members to identify and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Candidate must have ability to attain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
  • Capacity to work in a Shipyard Industrial Environment, including brief underway periods Desired: Experience with the following: Cisco Switches Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 VMWare ESXI MariaDB - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.
