Software Engineering & Development ( State Street Bank and Trust Company; Austin, TX): Technical lead for large complex projects for State Street involving listed options and futures, over the counter (OTC) derivatives and cleared derivatives products as well as Bank Loans products like syndicated and private loans.
This individual will be responsible for: Developing web front-end solutions using UI frameworks, such as React JS, GWT; Developing and maintaining middle-tier and backend modules using Java, Spring web services, streaming, messaging, PL/SQL and hibernate technologies; Working in a lead developer capacity on projects related to the onboarding of clients to the Derivatives Hub (DHub) and Bank Loans HQ (LHQ); Working closely with developers, architects and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction; Developing application solutions through effective use of offshore development teams; Adopting and championing continuous integration and agile development best practices; Working with Business Analysts in translating business requirements into Agile Epics and Sequencing Roadmaps; Working as tech lead as part of modernization/transformation efforts related to the DHub and legacy Loans platforms; Serving as a Subject Matter Expert on DHub/LHQ business and process flow; Maintaining a solid understanding of DHub/LHQ applications and their functionality related to derivatives processing; Performing root cause analysis to identify major issues for clients, and conducting business analysis to determine the cause of any discrepancies relating to the DHub and LHQ platforms; Proactively identifying and resolving project issues, troubleshooting data queries, and working collaboratively with various development and support teams at State Street; and Regularly communicating with onshore and offshore teams and participating in status meeting with various application stakeholders.
Hybrid-remote telecommuting permitted pursuant to Company policy. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 7 years of experience with hands-on technology development.
Total experience above must include the following: 7 years of solid hands-on technology experience with Financial Industry and Complex Operations asset classes such as Over The Counter Derivatives (OTC) and Bank Loans both Syndicated and Private loans; 7 years of experience designing multi-threaded backend applications to achieve high-throughput processing volumes; 7 years of experience successfully transforming legacy desktop-based applications into scalable, cloud-native web applications, significantly reducing maintenance overhead while enhancing usability and deployment flexibility; 7 years of experience and demonstrated solid ability in Java/J2EE; 5 years of experience and demonstrated advanced expertise with UI frameworks, such as React JS, GWT; 5 years of hands-on experience and demonstrated solid ability with web services and JMS; 5 years of hands-on experience and demonstrated solid ability with Oracle, PL/SQL, stored procedures, or Exadata, SQL Server; 5 years of experience with and solid working knowledge of DB optimization concepts to identify bottlenecks in Query and Stored Procedures of legacy modules; 5 years of experience and demonstrated solid ability with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka or data driven services to support application architecture to break monolithic workflows into microservices and establish communication; 5 years of solid ability with Document Management Systems (DMS), with a strong focus on designing and supporting scalable solutions for document ingestion, secure storage, metadata tagging, retrieval, and archiving to ensure audit readiness; and 4 years of experience designing and implementing spring boot-based scheduler jobs to efficiently utilize limited system resources and deliver high throughput.
Must also have the following: Proven experience in developing and maintaining systems designed to ingest and process large volumes of bank loans lifecycle event documents with exceptional reliability and high throughput; Proven experience working with high-volume, high-throughput, low-latency applications; Proven ability to proactively identify and resolve project issues; Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills; and Demonstrated strong level of competence in results focus, business acumen and curiosity, technology level influence and teamwork.
