Position Summary We are seeking a Mainframe Integration Engineer with 5+ years of experience in z/OS Connect and CICS technologies to support the design, development, deployment, and validation of mainframe-based integration services.
This role will work on enabling and supporting REST-based services on z/OS, validating files and service artifacts in Mainframe UNIX/OMVS environments, and assisting with troubleshooting and operational support across z/OS Connect and CICS platforms.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Eclipse IDz, Zowe, and mainframe service validation, along with a basic understanding of Liberty servers and their role within z/OS Connect deployments. Required Qualifications 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in z/OS Connect and CICS-based application/integration support or development.
Strong working experience with Eclipse IDz for mainframe development and debugging. Experience using Zowe for interacting with z/OS resources, datasets, USS/OMVS files, and job execution. Hands-on experience validating files, configuration artifacts, and deployment components in Mainframe UNIX System Services (USS/OMVS) related to z/OS Connect.
Experience supporting or validating REST service enablement for mainframe applications. Good understanding of CICS regions, transactions, and service connectivity. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot configuration, deployment, and runtime issues across z/OS Connect and CICS environments.
Experience working with JSON, service request/response validation, and file/configuration verification in mainframe environments. Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills with the ability to work across distributed and mainframe support teams.
Preferred Qualifications Basic understanding of Liberty Servers, including server configuration concepts and their usage in z/OS Connect environments. Experience with Liberty server.xml or related configuration validation. Familiarity with COBOL copybooks, service definitions, and API/service integration patterns in z/OS Connect.
Exposure to mainframe UNIX scripting, automation, or deployment validation activities. Experience supporting application onboarding, service registration, or deployment processes in z/OS Connect. Familiarity with enterprise integration environments involving APIs, service consumers/providers, and JSON-based interfaces.
Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating with infrastructure, platform engineering, and architecture teams. Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent work experience in mainframe technologies may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $72,100.00 - $144,200.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
