This isn't a traditional recruitment role. You'll sit alongside our lending leadership team, partnering directly with senior executives to shape the future of one of the UK's most successful commercial lending businesses. From identifying the next generation of lending leaders to providing market intelligence that influences strategic decisions, you'll play a critical role in OakNorth's continued growth.

What You'll Be Doing You'll be the trusted Talent Partner for our UK Debt Finance business, working closely with the Chief Lending Officer and senior leadership to deliver hiring strategies that fuel growth.

You'll own hiring across the entire lending organisation—from Associates through to Senior Directors—with a particular focus on attracting exceptional senior talent that creates lasting commercial impact. You'll: Partner with senior business leaders to shape long-term hiring strategies Lead executive search assignments from market mapping through to successful hire Build deep networks across UK commercial banking, debt finance and private credit Develop proactive talent pipelines before opportunities even exist Use AI-powered sourcing and market intelligence to uncover exceptional candidates Provide insight into competitor activity, compensation trends and emerging talent Influence workforce planning, succession strategies and organisational design Represent OakNorth across the lending community through networking, events and industry engagement This is a role where you'll genuinely influence the direction of the business—not simply fill vacancies.

What We're Looking For You'll likely bring experience from executive search or in-house recruitment within commercial banking, debt finance, corporate banking or private credit.

You'll also have: A strong track record hiring senior professionals, particularly Director and Senior Director level talent Deep knowledge of the UK commercial lending market Exceptional executive search and headhunting capability Strong market mapping and talent intelligence skills Experience influencing senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams Excellent communication, judgement and commercial awareness A proactive, entrepreneurial approach with a genuine "make it happen" mindset An interest in using AI to improve sourcing, market insight and recruitment effectiveness
