About the role We are looking for a Rolling Stock Maintenance Supervisor to develop and maintain a team of multiskilled maintainers to provide safe and efficient maintenance of our rolling stock fleet, specifically Locomotives and brake cars.
This is a FIFO role at 7 Mile working 8 days on, 6 days off, day shift only. This role is a great opportunity to join a large-scale operation and oversee a skilled team in the successful delivery of maintenance activities. Reporting to the Superintendent Loco Maintenance, you will: Drive and promote an inclusive and strong safety culture through sound safety leadership striving towards operational excellence Lead a diverse maintenance team, providing sound team leadership, performance management, safety performance, workflow management and task execution Monitor and measure team performance to ensure that safety, maintenance, and cost targets are met Manage equipment provided to the team in support of their activities and ensure appropriate allocation of resources to achieve planned outcomes Effectively liaise with key stakeholders to ensure the loco team complete their scheduled primary and secondary maintenance tasks (PR&L, 7 Mile Operations, RSM Planning, Yard Planners etc) Develop, review and update procedures and training documentation for all areas of work Assist the Superintendent Loco Maintenance in the successful operations and in the application of the Performance Management System Ensure that the budget is managed in accordance with the plan and deliver improvement initiatives Use SAP and Rio Tinto workflow management principles to execute planned maintenance activities Have the ability to make important decisions relatively quickly during high pressure situations About you To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, and genuine care for our people.
Hold or be able to obtain a Cat1 rail medical. A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team A relevant Electrical or Mechanical Trade Qualification Sound Electrical or Mechanical aptitude and experience Rail (Rolling Stock) or HME experience Sound knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements Exposure to, and have a high-level understanding of SAP work management processes Experience with leading people Strong time management and organisational skills Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to develop and maintain effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
Experience in bulk materials handling sector or related industry, particularly related to an operational work environment Effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders to achieve daily maintenance targets and operations needs Computer literacy including Microsoft Office, SAP & other information systems (e.g.
