Functional Test Engineer

What You'll Do

• Perform manual and automated functional testing for web-based applications and data management systems.
• Develop, refine, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct API testing using REST protocols, validating request and response structures, error handling, and authentication workflows.
• Perform SQL-based validation to ensure backend data quality, consistency, and integrity.
• Execute regression, integration, system, and UAT testing, ensuring smooth end-to-end functionality.
• Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including scheduling, test data preparation, user guidance, and issue triage.
• Track, document, and communicate defects using established defect management tools and processes.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and documentation.
• Support testing activities for systems similar to ERPIMS or other Air Force environmental data systems, including validation of environmental project data workflows.

• You Have: 3+ years of experience in software testing, including manual and automated Experience with manual functional testing Experience with automated testing tools, such as Selenium, Cypress
• Playwright Experience with SQL querying for data validation Experience with Web application testing across multiple browsers and environments Experience with REST API testing, such as Postman, ReadyAPI
• curl Experience with UAT coordination with end users or mission stakeholders Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies

• Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies
• experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
• The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).
• The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
