Our team owns services that are critical to how Amazon operates in the cloud — they underpin account lifecycle operations, policy enforcement
organizational governance for millions of AWS accounts. You'll build and operate services that are foundational to Amazon's security posture and cloud operations. The Account Lifecycle and Federation at Amazon (ALFA) team is looking for a Software Development Engineer II who is passionate about building large-scale distributed systems that power AWS account management and governance. You will work on the Merlon Accounts and Trusted Services team
maintains the control plane for AWS account management — the backbone infrastructure that enables teams across Amazon and AWS to create, manage

deliver software solutions that power AWS account lifecycle management. · Build and operate large-scale distributed systems with high availability and low latency requirements. · Drive technical decisions and contribute to the architecture of the account management control plane. · Execute against project plans and delivery commitments with a bias for action. · Develop relationships with internal partner teams across security, infrastructure
AWS to deliver integrated solutions. · Contribute to operational excellence by improving monitoring, alarming
runbooks for production systems. · Participate in on-call rotations and drive root cause analysis for operational events. · Mentor junior engineers and help raise the technical bar across the team. About the team About the team ALFA is responsible for the systems that manage the full lifecycle of AWS accounts at Amazon — from creation to governance to decommissioning. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
