Division Overview- ITW Specialty Films manufactures and markets coated and metallized films used in Financial Cards, Secure ID, Medical Bags, Laminations, and Holographics. Operating from eight locations across North America and Europe, the division leverages deep technical expertise to meet specialized customer needs.
Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and proactive Machine Operator to support production within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. In this role, you will operate and assist with large-scale press and processing equipment used in continuous material production.
Operators at ITW take ownership of the process- ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent output while supporting team performance and continuous improvement. This position performs routine machine operations, supports basic setups, monitors product quality, and escalates issues requiring technical adjustment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safety & Readiness Maintain a safety-first mindset; follow all safety policies and procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) where required Verify machine guarding, PPE, and safe conditions prior to operation Complete pre-run inspections and safety checklists Work safely around large-scale industrial equipment, moving materials, and stored energy systems Remain alert to pinch points, crush hazards, and material movement risks Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S standards Participate in safety audits and continuous safety improvement initiatives Machine Operation & Support Operate assigned production equipment, including press machines, drill presses, and related machinery Perform routine production operations following work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Assist with simple machine setups, adjustments, and tool changes as directed Support handling and positioning of materials, including large rolls or components, using appropriate assist equipment where required Assist with threading, alignment, and monitoring of continuous material flow under guidance Monitor machine performance and material output to identify irregularities or operating issues Notify setup technicians or supervisors when complex adjustments, tooling changes, or repairs are required Quality & Inspection Use basic measurement tools (calipers, gauges, rulers, etc.) to verify product meets specifications Perform in-process inspections for dimensional accuracy, surface condition, and overall quality Identify defects such as misalignment, surface imperfections, or inconsistent material output Record inspection results and follow established quality procedures Stop production and report nonconforming conditions in a timely manner Documentation & Systems Operate basic computer interfaces or machine controls for job tracking and production entry Accurately complete job travelers, production records, and quality documentation Follow all SOPs, work instructions, and standard documentation practices Materials & Housekeeping Handle raw materials and finished product safely using proper methods and equipment Support material movement, loading, unloading, and staging for production Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area throughout the shift Perform basic cleaning and routine care of machines and tools Teaming & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with team members, leads, and technical support staff Assist in cross-training and provide support across production areas as needed Identify opportunities to improve safety, reduce waste, and increase efficiency Communicate effectively during shift transitions and escalate issues early ROLE SCOPE This is an entry-level machine operator role focused on equipment operation and production support.
Routine setups and minor adjustments are performed within defined procedures Advanced troubleshooting, major setups, and tooling changes are handled by higher-level operators or technicians QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
