DevOps Observability Lead

ROLE PROFILE: We are seeking a DevOps Observability Lead to join our Customers Identity & Access Management team at LSEG. In this role, you will define and drive the observability strategy for our mission-critical components that underpins hundreds of LSEG products for customers worldwide.
You will lead efforts to design and implement advanced monitoring, alerting, tracing and logging solutions, enabling proactive incident management and continuous improvement. This is a rare opportunity to be part of the transformation journey of a traditional IT management to DevOps SRE Culture with a direct impact on the resilience of financial services used globally.
What You’ll Do Own the observability strategy for CIAM services, ensuring comprehensive monitoring, tracing, alerting, and logging across distributed systems. Design and implement observability platforms and tooling to support real-time insights and proactive incident response.
Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and engineering teams to embed observability best practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure. Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, driving reliability and performance improvements. Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews, ensuring learnings translate into actionable improvements.
Champion automation in monitoring and alerting to reduce manual intervention and improve system resilience. Mentor engineers on observability principles and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making. What We’re Looking For Proven experience in observability engineering or SRE, with expertise in monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
Strong knowledge of AWS services, cloud-native architectures, and Infrastructure as Code. Hands-on experience with observability tools (e.g. Datadog). Solid understanding of SLIs/SLOs, reliability engineering, and incident management. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
