Position Summary We are looking for a detail oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative Senior Financial Analyst/Data Analyst to support our finance team at Aetna Better Health of Virginia.
This role is unique in that it combines the skills of a data analyst with the business acumen of a financial analyst. The ideal candidate will be curious, passionate about data, and able to articulate trends through data and analytics that will support Aetna’s ability to achieve our financial and strategic goals.
You should be proficient in reading and writing SQL code and provide thoughtful and accurate analysis to our internal and external stakeholders. Job Responsibilities - Act as a business partner with various internal and external shareholders - Provide data and analysis to support the unit's mission of providing the highest quality healthcare for our members - Prepare and deliver, in a timely and accurate manner, daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, regulatory reports, and financial packages - Demonstrate ability to create and modify code and scripts in SQL without a template to deliver accurate and actionable insights from complex data - Manage and validate data from multiple sources using SQL Server Management Studio - Communicate processes and requirements to both business and technical staff - Utilize SQL to identify and analyze trends in data to enable leadership team to take action on trends and/or outliers - Prepare complex ad hoc reports using SQL and Excel, and create new reports as needed - Streamline processes for efficiency and identify cost and time savings opportunities - Ensure accuracy of premiums received by producing reconciliation reporting - Represent the finance team in plan/provider meetings as needed - Understand and articulate business drivers and market trends - Assist project teams as a subject matter expert Required Qualifications - 3+ years of experience working with SQL or other database query languages (Intermediate to Advanced) - 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced) - Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills - Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills - Strong organizational skills, including prioritization and escalation of issues when appropriate Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of experience working in Healthcare ( experience in Medicaid is a plus ) - Experience with data visualization including Tableau, Power BI, and Excel - 3+ years of experience with financial planning and analysis Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required Prefer degrees in Finance, Actuarial Science, Math, Data Science, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $46,988.00 - $112,200.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
