What You Will Be Doing: You will own hardware designs for Helion's fusion generator prototypes. You will be working with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production technicians, to implement and troubleshoot high-voltage and low-voltage hardware architectures for pulsed power capacitor banks that are designed for production at scale.

You will solve multidisciplinary engineering problems that are necessary for deploying fusion energy to the world and act as a culture driver on a growing team. This role is onsite at our headquarters in Everett, WA. You Will: Own and understand subsystem designs such as electromagnetic, structural, fluid, thermal and control systems, and improve their requirements Learn from historical engineering approaches, design novel hardware, and test your solutions Optimize sub-system and component designs to scale for high volume manufacturing Design fusion hardware within 3D CAD software (e.g.

NX, Solidworks) Perform analysis with tools like ANSYS and COMSOL Multiphysics, and hold design reviews to gather feedback and iterate to a fully functioning system Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in engineering 7+ years of professional experience delivering on full-scope engineering projects (including schedule ownership) Experience applying engineering first-principles and method-based thinking to challenging problems Hands-on exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, fluids, thermal) Experience designing, testing, and launching production hardware at scale Moderate understanding of engineering physics fundamentals (mechanics of materials, circuits), and the ability to apply those principles to the design of high-voltage and pulsed power hardware Advanced experience with CAD software (e.g.
