- Position Summary
- We are looking for an experienced Production Technician to join our manufacturing team reporting to the Production Supervisor. Your role will be to support the day-to-day operation of the manufacturing area. You should have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team. We are looking for an individual that has a keen eye for detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines. You and the manufacturing team will be responsible for ensuring that our products are built to the highest standard. - Roles & Responsibilities
- Observes appropriate safety procedures and works to applicable codes and guidelines.
- Utilize routine and non-standard work orders, written and verbal instructions to build and test subassemblies and assemblies.
- Operate manufacturing tools and equipment to perform electro-mechanical assembly operations, inspection, and documentation.
- Use common measurement tools and gauges, test fixtures, Hipot and other electronic measurement equipment, and pressure test equipment to test and inspect assemblies and subassemblies.
- Reads and interprets specifications, diagrams, manuals, and other documentation.
- Willingness to be trained and use forklifts, pallet jacks, and ergonomic lift assist devices.
- Enter data on a computer terminal, such as work order progress, quality data, and labor details.
- Perform audits to ensure all necessary parts are available and free of defects to perform build and testing.
- Quickly identify and escalate any non-conformance or quality issues to the Manufacturing Manager.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement processes.
- Key Qualifications
- Associated Degree, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience with electro-mechanical assembly
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, and/or equivalent military environment. Automotive assembly is a plus.
- Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs and work with heavy equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Required to operate in various positions around fixed equipment and machinery, including using lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
- Must wear and work in personal protective equipment.
- Additional Qualifications Desired
- Ability to utilize ladders or other high structures to work at heights of ten feet or higher.
- Previous work around cranes, hoists, and forklifts.
- Experience with high-temperature, high-power industrial systems (energy, thermal processing, rockets, etc.).
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified
- Experience with 3-axis gantry CNC mill designed for large-part machining
- Proficiency across multiple welding techniques including TIG, MIG
- the ability to read and interpret welding symbols and engineering drawings. Experience maintaining and servicing welding equipment is required.
- Experience operating Combilift Hydraulic Straddle Carrier and Shuttlelift Gantry Crane handling loads ranging from 5 to 75 tons in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
