Overview The Search, News & AI Advertising Finance team plays a critical role in overseeing our Edge, Bing and MSN businesses. This team is responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), long-range planning, growth frameworks, transformational projects, market analytics, and external partnerships to drive business growth and strategic investment decisions.

As a Senior Finance Manager - Search / News & AI Advertising Finance, you will have a unique opportunity to use your insights and strategic thinking to partner with leaders on financial analysis, financial decisions and investments.
We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager - Search / News & AI Advertising Finance to take full ownership of PC & Tablet (PC&T) revenue analysis for our Search business. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that requires a robust FP&A craft, including the ability to not only build accurate financial models, but to turn numbers and business context into a concise, impactful story that leaders can act on.
You will be the subject matter expert for your PC&T portfolio, owning the end-to-end analytical rhythm from monthly close through quarterly forecast and fiscal planning. The Senior Finance Manager - Search / News & AI Advertising Finance role suits someone who takes genuine pride in analytical rigour, communicates with precision and confidence, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where the bar for quality is high Responsibilities Revenue Ownership & Analytical Rhythm Support the key rhythms of business through developing and effectively communicating analytics and insights for the PC&T Search business against forecast, budget and historical trends.
Lead monthly close and forecast cycles — producing volume/rate/mix variance analysis with appropriate business drivers, waterfall analyses, and clear explanations of drivers versus prior period, forecast and outlook. Develop and maintain robust financial models that accurately capture revenue dynamics across geography & verticals.
Proactively identify anomalies, trends, and risks in the revenue base and bring for discussion in weekly review meetings. Engage in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed. Financial Storytelling & Executive Communication Translate financial results into clear, concise narratives for senior Finance and business stakeholders, moving beyond the numbers to explain the ‘why’, ‘so what’ and ‘what next’.
Build and maintain executive-ready reporting that effectively communicates PC&T revenue performance and present this in business reviews with demonstrated ability to discuss results from a business and finance perspective. Business Partnering Serve as the primary Finance point of contact for your PC&T portfolio, fielding revenue questions from business and Finance partners, providing timely and accurate responses.
Partner with business stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of the commercial drivers of PC&T revenue, including market dynamics, industry/vertical trends and monetization mechanics. Contribute to forecast and planning scenario analysis, helping the business understand the financial implications of strategic decisions.
Quality & Process Improvement Set and maintain a high bar for analytical accuracy, model integrity, and output quality across PC&T deliverables. Identify opportunities to improve reporting frameworks, analytical tools, and process efficiency within the team’s rhythm of business.
Document analytical approaches and assumptions clearly, supporting knowledge continuity and team capability. Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
