A day in the life In this role as a Sr. Software Development Manager, you will balance technical leadership with people management to deliver systems that are critical to the uptime and performance of Leo ground terminals worldwide. A typical day may include reviewing system design documents with your engineers, aligning on roadmap priorities with Leo Ground Systems leadership
  • partnering with engineers on the team to evaluate a new anomaly detection model heading toward production. You will lead hiring loops, provide feedback on architectural tradeoffs

You will work closely with SEIT engineers and hardware suppliers to define software interfaces and drive ground systems integration. When incidents arise, you will lead the response — coordinating across teams, driving root cause analysis

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering
  • related field - 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated depth in designing and operating distributed systems - 3+ years of engineering people management experience, including hiring, developing
  • performance managing SDEs - Experience owning and delivering software products or services end-to-end, from design through production operations - Experience communicating technical strategy and tradeoffs clearly to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering
  • a related technical field - Experience building or operating software systems in satellite, RF
