Amazon Aurora Storage platform team is looking for experienced software engineers who are excited about building large scale systems spanning tens of thousands of servers, across multiple data-centers worldwide. These are core systems development positions where you will own the design and development of significant software components critical to our industry leading database services architect-ed for the cloud. In this hands on position you will be asked to do everything from building rock-solid components to mentoring other engineers. You need to not only be a top software developer with a good track record of delivering, but also excel in communication, leadership and customer focus. Key job responsibilities Our engineers collaborate across diverse teams, projects

distributed systems. You’ll also: Solve challenging technical problems, often ones not solved before, at every layer of the stack. Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost
security. Build high-quality, highly available, always-on products. Research implementations that deliver the best possible experiences for customers. A day in the life As you design and code solutions to help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture, you’ll create metrics, implement automation and other improvements
resolve the root cause of software defects. You’ll also: Build high-impact solutions to deliver to our large customer base. Participate in design discussions, code review
communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Work cross-functionally to help drive business decisions with your technical input. Work in a startup-like development environment

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience - 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems
services using: C#, C++, Java
Perl experience - 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics
a related field - Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
