The Wholesale Lending Operations Accounting & Controls Senior Analyst is a professional role which integrates in-depth specialty knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices; leveraging skills in loan processing and accounting related processes.
Demonstrates good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub-function/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner.
Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Direct impact on core operational and financial activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities
- Integrates a solid understanding of industry and business standards and practices of wholesale lending accounting processes Executes key loan accounting-related processes independently and has some latitude to resolve complex issues
- expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes Processes, approves, researches
- monitors transactions such as general ledger entries, Demand Deposit Account (DDA) overdrafts, account maintenance, adjustments and refunds, escheatment, escrow, Reg W, Foreign Exchange (FX)
- month end accounting entries Reviews and analyzes complex data and reports often related, but not limited to loan accounting and cash management processes to satisfy management requirements and support key control activities Participates in and supports the implementation of projects and process improvement initiatives Interprets data and makes recommendations for process and control improvements related to loan accounting processing functions Minimizes risk to the bank through a solid understanding of procedural requirements - provides solutions to reduce errors

- Servers as a checker for systematic transactions as a last line of defense.
- Timely escalation and resolution of all inquiries and issues related to loan accounting processes Provides feedback and/or on-the-job-training to peers and/or new team members Works closely with own team and Lending Ops and Finance stakeholders in order to ensure accuracy of financial transactions and execution of the appropriate controls.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices

Qualifications
- 3-7 years of relevant experience in loan accounting/financial processes including reconciliations Strong knowledge of wholesale lending products and the related accounting processes and financial flows Experience with DDA/cash management or related processes Knowledge of journal entries and related accounting treatment Can work well under pressure and multi-task with a sense of urgency Proactive to escalate issues and drive change on process Deliver results and able to meet tight deadlines Ability to collaborate with team members within and outside of own team Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking skills Intermediate Excel skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience with commercial lending technology and related accounting flows (LoanIQ and Flexcube preferred) Knowledge of Citi general ledger related systems including FullSuite and eRecon Knowledge of accounting principles and accounting practices (e.g.
