The Senior Product Manager will lead product strategy, roadmap definition, and lifecycle execution for hardware and software insulin products and features. This is an onsite opportunity based out of Alameda, CA. What You’ll Work On Own product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management for an Abbott Diabetes Care connected diabetes-care product that integrates hardware, embedded software/firmware, mobile app experiences, and dose-guidance capabilities.
Translate patient, caregiver, health care professional, commercial, and business needs into clear product requirements, priorities, and tradeoff decisions across the end-to-end product ecosystem. Lead cross-functional alignment with systems engineering, hardware, embedded software, mobile app, data science/algorithm, UX, clinical, regulatory, quality, privacy/cybersecurity, operations, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and customer support teams.
Conduct market, customer, and competitive analysis; synthesize product performance data and user feedback to identify opportunities that improve outcomes, engagement, usability, and business performance. Guide development of a cohesive user experience across device, app, and support touchpoints, ensuring product decisions reflect human factors, accessibility, reliability, and the realities of diabetes self-management.
Support regulated medical device and digital health product development activities, including design controls, risk management inputs, clinical and regulatory evidence needs, privacy/cybersecurity considerations, and quality system expectations.
Manage dependencies across hardware, firmware, software, algorithm, and mobile release plans; anticipate technical and operational risks, resolve priority conflicts, and keep teams focused on the highest-impact work. Define and monitor success metrics for adoption, engagement, dose-guidance experience, product reliability, customer satisfaction, quality signals, and commercial performance; adapt plans based on insights and results.
Partner with marketing, training, field, and support teams to prepare launch and lifecycle materials, positioning, sales enablement, and customer-facing communications appropriate for the target audiences. Communicate product vision, progress, risks, and decisions to senior stakeholders, bringing a product management perspective that connects customer value, technical feasibility, compliance, and business impact.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Minimum 5 years of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications MBA Healthcare or medical device industry experience The base pay for this position is $130,700.00 – $261,300.00 In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
