Senior Manager Facilities What you will do Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will provide leadership and oversight of Facilities operations at Amgen Ohio (AOH), including management of site facilities personnel, critical facilities programs, and Integrated Service Providers (ISP) supporting the site.

You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient operation of facility infrastructure and services that support commercial manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Director of Facilities & Engineering, the Senior Manager Facilities will serve as the primary owner for site facilities operations, facility-related compliance programs, and Integrated Service Provider performance.

The role will collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, EHSS, Supply Chain, and other site functions to ensure facility services, infrastructure, and support programs meet business needs while maintaining a state of inspection readiness.

The Senior Manager Facilities will be a key leader in driving operational excellence, contractor performance, compliance, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the AOH campus. Responsibilities Facilities Operations and Program Ownership Provide leadership and oversight for site facilities personnel responsible for daily facilities operations and support services.

Maintain ownership of facility infrastructure and associated support systems to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation. Ensure effective execution and oversight of critical facilities programs including janitorial services, pest control, grounds maintenance, waste management, and general building services.

Establish and maintain lifecycle management strategies for facility infrastructure, building systems, and support assets. Conduct routine facility inspections to identify safety concerns, compliance risks, infrastructure issues, and improvement opportunities.

Initiate and oversee corrective actions and work orders required to maintain facility conditions and operational readiness. Drive operational excellence and standardization of facilities management practices across the site. Compliance and Inspection Readiness Ensure facilities operations and service providers comply with cGMP requirements, company policies, EHSS standards, and regulatory expectations.

Maintain facilities and associated programs in a continuous state of inspection readiness. Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, customer audits, and partner visits. Ensure facility-related procedures, documentation, training records, contractor qualifications, and program records are maintained in accordance with applicable quality and compliance requirements.

Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and EHSS organizations to identify and mitigate compliance risks. Ensure critical facilities programs such as cleaning, pest control, waste management, and contractor activities are executed and documented in accordance with approved procedures and GMP expectations.

Integrated Service Provider Leadership and Governance Manage and oversee Integrated Service Providers supporting AOH, including Integrated Facilities Management, Compass, and MRO operations. Collaborate with service providers to drive accountability and performance, ensuring safe and compliant execution of all contracted services.

Ensure service providers deliver against approved scopes of work and meet established service level agreements. Provide a consistent approach and escalation pathway for managing Integrated Service Providers. Ensure adherence to contractor management practices and company standards.

Participate in network and governance teams to drive alignment, share best practices, and support implementation of enterprise initiatives related to ISP management. Ensure effective change management processes are followed for scope modifications and service changes.

Customer Engagement and Business Partnership Serve as a dedicated customer advocate and single point of accountability for facility services. Frequently interact with client senior management and functional leaders to understand business needs, translate requirements into actionable initiatives, and seek ongoing feedback.

Build strong partnerships across site functions to ensure facility services effectively support operational requirements. Provide leadership and resolution for issues escalated by customers, service providers, and site stakeholders. Financial and Performance Management Ensure financial targets and operational objectives are achieved for assigned accounts and service agreements.

Monitor service provider performance, cost management, and resource utilization. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, operational effectiveness, and cost efficiency. Serve as a decision-maker and escalation point for operational, contractual, and performance-related issues.

Basic Qualifications Doctorate degree and 2 years of Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, or related experience OR Master’s degree and 6 years of Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, or related experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, or related experience OR Associate’s degree and 10 years of Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, or related experience OR High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Facilities, Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, or related experience In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources.

Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above Preferred Qualifications Experience leading facilities operations within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of facility infrastructure, building systems, and facility support services. Demonstrated understanding of cGMP requirements and facility compliance programs supporting regulated manufacturing operations. Experience managing janitorial, pest control, waste management, grounds maintenance, and other outsourced facility service programs.

Experience managing vendor relationships, contractor performance, and service level agreements. Demonstrated success maintaining inspection readiness and supporting regulatory inspections and audits. Strong leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to effectively influence across multiple levels of the organization and drive accountability across diverse teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
