Role Description The MRB Coordinator is a critical operational role at Form Energy, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Operations. This position is responsible for the efficient, cross-functional management of nonconforming material (NCM) across all value streams in Form Factory 1 (FF1).
You will own the performance of the MRB cages, ensuring that nonconforming material is effectively contained, investigated, and dispositioned to maintain a near-zero day-over-day inventory level. This is a hands-on, data-driven role that requires a blend of process discipline and a continuous improvement mindset.
Beyond managing the day-to-day disposition workflow, you will leverage data analysis to identify the top drivers of nonconformance, collaborating with Quality and Process Engineering to drive corrective actions and long-term process stability.
You will serve as the primary liaison between Operations and Engineering, balancing production urgency with quality standards. This opportunity is based out of Form Energy's Weirton, WV facility. Relocation assistance is available
What You'll Do
- Own MRB Cage Performance: Maintain near-zero inventory levels day-over-day by ensuring all nonconforming material is identified, quarantined
- dispositioned (rework, scrap, return to vendor, engineering hold) in a timely manner.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Utilize data analysis and other performance metrics to identify the top opportunities for process and quality improvements
- partner with Quality and Process Engineering to drive these initiatives to implementation.
- Operational Leadership: Provide functional, dotted-line leadership to the MRB technician team, ensuring consistent execution of containment, labeling, and material movement procedures.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the primary bridge between Operations and Engineering, facilitating swift resolution of nonconforming material issues and ensuring production throughput remains steady.
- Process Compliance: Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with established Quality Management Procedures (QM).
- Provide guidance to the floor team when unique or non-standard nonconformances arise.
- Reporting & Communication: Monitor KPIs—including average age of inventory and disposition cycle time—and maintain clear, consistent communication regarding NCR status via the designated internal channels.
- System Integrity: Verify that MES status updates are completed accurately and that all disposition documentation is audit-ready.
- What you'll bring: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering within a fast-paced production environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to synthesize complex defect data into actionable improvement projects.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and providing functional or dotted-line leadership to technical associates.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and understand chemical-electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Systems Proficiency: Experience with QMS software, ERP systems (Quickbase or similar), and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and shop-floor operations.
- Where you'll work: This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA.
