  • Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc. seeks a Software Engineering Senior Advisor for the Seattle, WA location to lead a platform team in the software design, development
  • quality testing of REST-based entity services for next-generation service architecture. Responsibilities:
  • Act as the lead developer on one or more scrum team responsible for the design and development of services implementing REST-based Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  • Work with technical managers, architects
  • subject matter experts to define and refine requirements and API specifications, perform analyses of existing business services and data stores, create detailed designs, write code and unit tests, conduct code reviews and code refactoring

  • Partner with architects to set the direction for maturing use of, retiring, and adding technology components in the Evernorth (ESI) environment.
  • Work with technical managers and scrum masters in communicating status, figuring out sprints and milestones, aligning sprints to business needs, breaking stories into tasks, providing estimates
  • ensuring the development efforts are focused and aligned with stories.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance (QA) team and developers to define and implement test strategy, ensure quality, lead efforts to develop standard practices, components
  • guidelines for the use of complex technology components
  • resolve urgent issues with production services.
  • Hybrid Work Schedule. Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience as a Senior Technical Consultant, Technical Consultant, Web Developer, or related occupation.
  • Will accept a Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience.
  • Requires experience with: Working in/with clients in the healthcare or pharmacy benefit management industry;
  • Working on AWS cloud migration for Audit data service from on-prem Postgres to Aurora DB; Developing One-time load data migration tools in python to migrate the existing on-prem terabytes of data into Aurora DB;
  • Developing data synchronization pipelines to process the real-time data from Apache Kafka topics by configuring S3 sink connector to trigger S3 events and Lambda to persist the data into Aurora DB;
  • Optimizing the API service response time within SLA by improving mongo queries and indexes;
  • Developing Data Verification Tools to reconcile data between different sources and target DB;
  • Designing effective data pipeline to transform data, performing data integrity checks and processing retry errors or failures;
  • Developing update processors to handle the data with high throughput and low latency using Kafka Confluent;
  • Implementing Mongo change streams on MongoDB to transform the real-time events into Data Lake;
  • Building Restful APIs in Spring Boot using cloud based Microservices architecture;
  • Developing a common Authorization service using Spring Security;
  • Setting up infrastructure for Disaster Recovery Environment;
  • Utilizing GitHub for managing work including issue tracking, pull request reviews and version control;
  • Implementing secure authentication mechanisms and managing user permissions to protect resources using OAuth2.0;
  • Writing unit tests using Junit framework;
  • Implementing PostgreSQL database as backend database for persistent Portal data;
  • Using Spring data repository framework to convert business requirements into database queries;
  • Working in Agile environments; and
  • Using: Java development, data models, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, Java Data Base Connectivity (JDBC), Structured Query Language (SQL), NoSQL, Scrum, Maven, REST-based services, Cloud/VM infrastructure and technologies

Salary Range: $180,710-$217,000 If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 130,200 - 217,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
