Credit Risk Technology - Sr. Vice President
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Vice President to join our Risk and Capital Technology team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). The successful candidate will possess extensive expertise in financial and credit risk domains, playing a pivotal role in the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions.
This individual will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and platforms to support Credit Monitoring process such as Early Warning Systems, Limits Management System, and Exposure Monitoring Responsibilities: Requirement Gathering & Analysis: Lead and facilitate discussions with business users, risk managers, and other stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document detailed business requirements for new features, enhancements, and strategic initiatives within the financial and credit risk technology landscape.
Solutioning & Brainstorming: Propose and design innovative technical solutions, actively participating in brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams to translate complex business problems into clear, actionable technology solutions.
Data Analysis & Data Lineage: Conduct in-depth data analysis to understand data sources, data flows, and data transformations. Define and document data lineage, ensuring data quality, integrity, and traceability across risk and capital systems.
Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with software development teams throughout the entire software development lifecycle, providing subject matter expertise, clarifying requirements, and ensuring that technical solutions align with business objectives and architectural principles.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Define test strategies, develop test plans, and perform rigorous functional and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that implemented solutions meet business requirements and are free of defects. Produce comprehensive test artifacts, including test cases, test results, and defect reports.
Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical leadership to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the team. Project Management Support: Contribute to project planning, status reporting, and risk escalation processes.
Identify potential roadblocks and proactively work to mitigate them, ensuring projects stay on track and within scope. Industry & Regulatory Awareness: Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting financial and credit risk management, incorporating relevant insights into solution designs and recommendations.
Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical, fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in financial services, with a strong focus on risk management, credit risk, or capital markets.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or similar role within a technology-driven environment.
- Proven track record in requirement gathering, business analysis, and solution design for complex financial applications.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of financial products, risk methodologies (e.g., VaR, Stress Testing), regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel, CCAR), and credit risk concepts.
- Familiarity with various risk models and their practical application.
- AI - Skills: Experience with AI technologies such as Co-Pilot, Gemini etc Technical Skills: Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or similar tools for data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and experience working within a technology delivery team.
- Knowledge of relevant financial technology platforms and systems is highly desirable.
