Job Description About the Role We are seeking an experienced, strategic thinking, Executive IT Support technician to elevate the technology experience for GM’s most senior executives and their executive admins. This role is ideal for a leader with deep Windows and Mac expertise, exceptional executive presence, and a forward-thinking approach to service design.
This person will help shape the future of Executive IT Support by bringing strong technical credibility, proactive service thinking, and a high standard for white-glove support. They will work closely with Executive IT Support leadership and partner teams to optimize how support is delivered, improve readiness for high-visibility moments, and help create a more scalable, resilient, and modern support model for GM leadership
What You'll Do
- Executive Partnership & White-Glove Support Serve as a trusted technology partner for GM’s senior executives and executive admins, building confidence through responsiveness, discretion, professionalism, and calm execution.
- Deliver high-touch support for executive offices, leadership transitions, board-level interactions, travel, and other high-visibility business moments.
- Anticipate needs before they become issues and ensure executives can focus on the business, not the technology.
- Technical Strategy & Leadership Act as the team’s expert in Mac support, including macOS, Apple hardware, peripherals, mobile ecosystem integration, and executive-specific end-user workflows.
- Define and mature standards, best practices, and support approaches for Apple devices within the executive environment.
- Partner with Client Engineering, Security, Identity, Networking, Collaboration, and other technical teams to ensure executive technology experiences are secure, seamless, and supportable.
- Evaluate opportunities to improve the executive experience through tooling, automation, device standards, and modernization of the support environment.
- Service Model Optimization Help shape the strategic direction of Executive IT Support by identifying service gaps, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve the support model for executives and admins.
- Recommend and help implement improvements to team structure, role clarity, support coverage, workflows, and escalation paths to optimize overall service delivery.
- Support the development of playbooks, standards, and repeatable processes that reduce dependency on individuals and improve consistency across the team.
- Use data, trends, and feedback to help define meaningful service metrics and continuously improve the executive support experience.
- Operational Excellence Lead complex executive escalations with urgency, sound judgment, and strong cross-functional coordination.
- Drive root-cause analysis and long-term remediation for recurring or high-impact issues affecting executive productivity.
- Ensure strong readiness for critical meetings, events, and executive travel, with a proactive approach to preparation and risk reduction.
- Promote standardization and operational discipline while maintaining the flexibility and personalization expected in executive support.
- Team Influence & Capability Building Raise the bar for technical excellence, executive communication, and white-glove service across the Executive Support team.
- Coach and mentor team members in Mac support, executive engagement, and high-stakes issue management.
- Help foster a culture of shared accountability, proactive problem-solving, continuous learning, and service excellence.
- Build strong working relationships across support teams and IT towers to create a more connected and resilient executive support ecosystem.
- What You'll Need: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Significant experience in IT support, with strong experience in executive, VIP, or other high-touch support environments.
- Expert-level experience supporting Mac devices and Apple ecosystems in an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated success supporting senior leaders with a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
- Experience improving service models, support operations, workflows, or team effectiveness in a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong technical background in end-user computing, collaboration tools, conferencing technology, mobile support, and incident management.
- Proven ability to influence across teams, align stakeholders, and drive improvement without relying solely on formal authority.
- Preferred Differentiators Experience supporting C-suite, board, or officer-level leaders in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience with executive event support, leadership transitions, and travel readiness.
- Experience creating service playbooks, support standards, dashboards, or executive support operating models.
- Experience influencing support strategy in environments where high-touch service and scale must coexist.
