Role Description We are seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join our diverse and discerning finance and accounting team! Specifically, we are looking for someone who is ready for growth in their career and ready to tackle challenges as the company grows and changes.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role will have extensive opportunities to improve processes and controls; as well as drive efficiencies throughout the cost accounting processes in our flagship, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

What You'll Do

  • Develop the work order accounting set-up to align with our unique manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the review of the manufacturing variances (yield loss, process loss, etc.).
  • Support in performing the quarterly standard cost roll-up process including identification of the appropriate cost pools and drivers.
  • Review the systematic cost roll-up for manufactured items and comparing to the forecast to identify variances for the business to investigate.
  • Stand-up physical existence controls (cycle counts, WIP counts, physicals) in partnering with Operations.
  • Develop a systematic process to assess any excess and obsolescence or LCM risk.
  • Help to close the period (monthly close entries, financial reporting and disclosure requirements) and performing analytical reviews for inventory and cost of goods sold balances in preparation for cycle reviews.
  • Perform testing for ERP enhancements as part of Form scaling (in-house MES buildout, fully burdened cost, tolling arrangements, etc.).
  • Help to lead identified automation initiatives.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and narratives related to cost accounting.
  • What you'll bring: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • CPA licensed. 5 or more years experience in US GAAP Accounting within a manufacturing company or public accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus).
  • Able to work independently with little instruction and can adapt to change.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and skilled at investigating variances.
  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and interpret data.
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changes in prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Where you'll work: This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA.
  • This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing.
