Job Overview The Sr Technician, Critical Site Operations serves as the senior onsite operational and technical authority responsible for maintaining the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of critical data center and wireless infrastructure environments.
This role leads operational response, technical escalation, and cross-functional coordination during complex maintenance activities, incidents, and infrastructure restoration events while ensuring strict adherence to safety, access, and change management controls.
The Senior Technician performs advanced smart hands support, complex physical troubleshooting, and controlled technical intervention across production infrastructure within approved operational scope. In addition, the role provides leadership through technician mentoring, operational training, process implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen execution consistency and operational readiness.
Success is measured through infrastructure reliability, operational compliance, incident resolution effectiveness, workforce capability development, and reduction of operational risk. Job Responsibilities : Lead onsite operational authority for critical infrastructure operations, maintenance execution, and incident response Lead complex technical troubleshooting, restoration, and escalation management for production infrastructure Direct cross-functional coordination during maintenance windows, outages, and high-risk operational events Enforce operational governance including safety, access control, change management, and execution risk mitigation Mentor, train, and develop technicians on operational standards, technical procedures, and new process adoption Drive operational readiness, continuous improvement, and lessons learned/root cause follow-up activities Manage vendor execution quality, accountability, and onsite operational compliance Monitor KPI performance, infrastructure reliability trends, and operational health indicators Other duties as assigned Education and Work Experience : Bachelor's Degree OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required) Acceptable areas of study include: Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Related Field (Required) 4-7 years Managing and operating critical data center or network infrastructure, including incident coordination and maintenance activities (Required) 2-4 years Advanced troubleshooting and restoration of complex technical systems to minimize business-impacting events (Required) 2-4 years Mentoring and leading technical teams, enforcing operational discipline, and ensuring compliance with safety standards (Required) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Leadership Ability to act as a technical leader, mentor junior technicians, and enforce operational discipline within the team. (Required) Project Management Knowledge of project management principles to handle technical and project-related escalations and coordinate maintenance and infrastructure changes. (Required) Troubleshooting Advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex incidents and minimize business-impacting events. (Required) Regulatory Compliance Ability to drive adherence to safety and compliance standards in critical site operations. (Required) Communication Effective communication skills to coordinate across multiple teams and vendors and provide scenario updates to appropriate audiences. (Required) Vendor Management Experience in coordinating and managing vendors for maintenance and infrastructure changes. (Required) Wireless Networking Solid understanding of wireless technologies and network design, including capacity planning and power systems. (Required) Attention To Detail Ability to maintain high service availability and operational stability through careful monitoring and execution. (Required) Licenses and Certifications : Certified Data Center Technician Professional (CDCTP): Certification demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills in data center operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. (Preferred) OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification: Certification covering workplace safety and health standards, essential for enforcing operational discipline and compliance in critical environments. (Preferred) At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States Pay Range: $32.80 - $59.18 Corporate Bonus Target: 10% The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role.
The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role.
Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
