About IPSD Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives.
Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future Role Definition We are seeking a Product Control Manager position. This person will b uild, enhance, and maintain manufacturing process instructions, changes, and releases in factory MES.
Manages the team responsible for track ing product and process changes, process analytics, p rocess work instructions, and production order releasing
What You Will Do
- Collaborating with manufacturing and product engineers to provide timely release and implementation of new engines , major product updates and miscellaneous changes.
- Establishing priorities and coordinating efforts of the change control team responsible for processing product changes, establishing manufacturing effective dates , creating process instructions
- alignment of production order releasing activities.
- Manage team of 3-5 employees in the US and India.
- Manage deliverables and budget of offsite contract resources .
- Providing specialized expertise and consultation to several product change control groups regarding release practices.
- Ensuring adherence to Caterpillar and Industry standards and process es including ODS /CDSA cycle time calculations, E ngineering Change Management, New Product Introduction, A ssisting in Virtual Build and Model Review processes.
- Interfacing with other facilit y and legacy ERP/ MES systems (CAPP+ , SAP , etc. ) in addition to our own (PLEX, MAMM, EOMP).
- What You Will Have: Change Control - MFG: Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified , evaluated, approved, monitored and documented

- Identifies common changes to manufacturing equipment, technologies, and systems.
- Describes the process for introducing any change to a production environment.

- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

- Summary Pay Range: $97,530.00 - $146,290.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
