Job Title: Software Test Engineer Travel: Local * * * Join our MSC IBS team as a Software Test Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions deployed on AWS cloud infrastructure. In this position, you'll combine hands-on testing expertise with strategic quality assurance practices, working alongside developers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, high-performance products that exceed customer expectations.

What You'll Do Core Responsibilities: Complete various types of software testing for system updates including functional, performance, API, and DB verification testing Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated regression test cases Identify, document, track, and advocate for defect resolution using bug tracking systems Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and system architecture Develop and maintain comprehensive test documentation including test plans, test cases, and testing reports Ensure test coverage and adherence to project requirements Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices development Qualifications
Required
- U.S. citizenship with active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain) 5+ years of progressive experience in software testing and quality assurance Proven track record of designing and implementing comprehensive test strategies Experience working within Agile development frameworks Experience with automated testing tools (e.g.
- Playwright, mabl, testRigor, etc.) Hands-on experience testing APIs Knowledge of database testing and SQL queries Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript) Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) Strong analytical, problem-solving
- communication skills Self-motivated to explore new and better ways of improving our test performance and coverage Preferred: Active Secret Clearance Professional certifications (ISTQB Foundation/Advanced, Certified Agile Tester, SAFe, AWS certifications) Knowledge of performance and load testing tools Knowledge of containerization concepts (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD practices Experience working in regulated or high-security environments Background working within both Agile and Waterfall development approaches Familiarity with microservices architecture and related testing strategies Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) Experience with command-line scripting, such as Bash Familiarity with DevSecOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.
