Acting as a subject matter expert, you will help ensure alignment with Rio Tinto's Contractor Management Standard (E7) and related governance requirements while partnering closely with operational, procurement, and business stakeholders. In this strategically focused role, you will leverage data, insights, and industry best practices to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and enhance contractor performance.
You will support the organization in maximizing value from contractor partnerships through compliance monitoring, performance analysis, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Ensure contractor management processes align with Rio Tinto's Contractor Management Standard (E7) and applicable governance requirements. Analyze contractor management data and reporting to identify trends, risks, compliance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to operational and procurement stakeholders on contractor management practices and standards. Support the resolution of complex contractor-related issues and act as an escalation point when site-level solutions are not sufficient.
Identify contract variances, performance gaps, and accountability opportunities, working with stakeholders to drive appropriate actions. Partner with operations, procurement, and business leaders to strengthen contractor governance, compliance, and performance outcomes.
Develop insights and recommendations that support strategic decision-making, risk mitigation, and value creation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance contractor management processes, systems, and overall effectiveness. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Processing Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
Demonstrated experience in contractor management, contract governance, business improvement, procurement, engineering, or a related field within mining, heavy industry, or a comparable environment. Experience working with complex stakeholder groups and influencing outcomes across multiple business functions.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities from data. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
Ability to work independently while building strong partnerships across operational and functional teams. Preferred Experience Knowledge of contractor management frameworks, governance standards, and compliance practices. Experience with contractor performance management, contract administration, or supplier relationship management.
Experience using data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms. Familiarity with Rio Tinto's Contractor Management Standard (E7) or comparable contractor management frameworks in mining, heavy industry, construction, or manufacturing environments.
