Director, Enterprise Data & Agentic AI Experience Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

Job Overview The Senior Director, Data & Agentic AI Experience serves as the single front door to the business for all Enterprise Data, AI, Agentic AI, Analytics, and Intelligent Automation initiatives.
This role is accountable for shaping enterprise demand, governing the portfolio of investments, translating business strategy into a funded AI roadmap, and ensuring measurable business value realization across the organization. As the strategic bridge between business functions and technology teams, the leader owns the relationship with senior business stakeholders and serves as the primary advisor on how Data, AI, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Digital Experiences can accelerate business growth, operational excellence, productivity, decision making, and innovation.
This executive will lead a team of domain-facing Data & AI leaders and business consultants responsible for identifying opportunities, defining business capabilities, prioritizing investments, and orchestrating delivery across enterprise data, analytics, AI platforms, and digital products.
A critical component of this role is defining and governing the Enterprise Agentic AI Experience Strategy by determining how AI agents, copilots, intelligent assistants, and autonomous workflows are embedded into daily business processes and employee experiences.
The leader will ensure AI adoption is measured against clear business outcomes, productivity improvements, user satisfaction, and financial impact. Additionally, this role will establish and lead the enterprise AI Experience Marketplace , creating a scalable model for business teams to discover, adopt, reuse, and govern AI agents, copilots, data products, and intelligent services across the enterprise.
This position requires a unique blend of business strategy, product management, AI innovation, data leadership, organizational change management, and executive stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Data & AI Business Partnership Serve as the primary executive relationship owner for Business Data, Analytics, AI, and Agentic AI demand.
Act as the trusted advisor to executive leadership on opportunities to leverage data, predictive analytics, Generative AI, and agentic capabilities. Lead business capability assessments and value discovery initiatives across commercial, supply chain, finance, operations, quality, manufacturing, digital, customer experience, and corporate functions.
Translate functional and business strategies into Data, AI, and Agentic AI investment portfolios. Build strategic partnerships across business functions to identify transformational opportunities and ensure alignment to enterprise priorities.
Drive executive decision-making regarding Data & AI investments, priorities, and funding decisions. AI Demand Management & Portfolio Ownership Own the end-to-end Enterprise Data & AI portfolio including demand intake, evaluation, prioritization, funding, governance, delivery oversight, and value realization.
Establish portfolio management practices that balance innovation, operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and business outcomes. Govern investment decisions using measurable business cases, ROI targets, adoption metrics, productivity measures, and value realization frameworks.
Chair enterprise AI demand review and prioritization forums. Drive portfolio transparency, executive reporting, and performance management. Agentic AI Strategy & Experience Design Define and own the enterprise Agentic AI strategy and vision.
Lead the design of intelligent agent experiences that transform how employees interact with data, systems, and business processes. Establish principles for Human + AI collaboration, agent orchestration, autonomous workflows, and AI-assisted decision making.
Define how AI agents appear within daily business workflows and employee experiences. Ensure agentic solutions are designed around measurable business outcomes rather than technology deployment. Drive adoption of enterprise copilots, digital assistants, AI agents, and autonomous business capabilities.
Create frameworks for scalable implementation of agentic experiences across business functions. AI Experience Marketplace Leadership Build and govern an Enterprise AI Experience Marketplace that enables business users to discover, adopt, and scale AI solutions.
Define standards for publishing, governing, and lifecycle management of AI agents, copilots, intelligent applications, and reusable data products. Drive marketplace adoption strategies and user engagement programs. Establish AI product catalog, reusable capabilities, and self-service consumption models.
Partner with platform and architecture teams to create a scalable ecosystem for AI innovation. Measure marketplace success through adoption, reuse, business impact, and productivity gains. Business Capability Planning & AI Roadmap Development Lead capability-based planning to identify opportunities where Data, Analytics, AI, and Agentic AI can accelerate business outcomes.
Translate business priorities into multi-year Data & AI roadmaps. Partner with domain leaders to create funding strategies, investment plans, and implementation roadmaps. Develop prioritization models based on strategic importance, business value, complexity, risk, and readiness.
Ensure roadmaps align with enterprise architecture, platform strategy, governance, and compliance requirements. Value Realization & Adoption Own enterprise Data & AI value realization processes and outcome governance. Define KPI frameworks that measure adoption, productivity, operational efficiency, decision quality, employee experience, and financial return.
Establish executive dashboards tracking benefits realization and portfolio performance. Drive organizational change management and business adoption strategies. Ensure sustained business value from AI investments through continuous optimization and performance tracking.
Create accountability mechanisms that link AI initiatives directly to business outcomes. Data Strategy, Governance & Product Leadership Partner with enterprise architecture, engineering, governance, and platform organizations to ensure business priorities are translated into scalable solutions.
Drive enterprise data strategy alignment across domains. Ensure data quality, governance, accessibility, interoperability, privacy, and security requirements are met. Champion a product-centric operating model for data and AI capabilities. Oversee lifecycle management for enterprise data products, AI products, and digital experiences.
Leadership & Organization Development Lead a global team of Data & AI Business Partners, Domain Leaders, Product Managers, AI Strategists, and Experience Leaders. Develop organizational capabilities in AI product management, business consulting, value realization, and agentic experience design.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, customer-centricity, and measurable business impact. Partner across global delivery, engineering, architecture, and platform organizations to execute at scale. Build succession pipelines and leadership capability across the Data & AI organization.
Experience Required 15+ years of leadership experience in Enterprise Data, Analytics, Digital Transformation, AI, Product Management, or Technology Strategy. 8+ years leading enterprise-scale Data and AI organizations. Proven success partnering with executive leadership and business stakeholders to define strategic priorities.
Demonstrated experience owning enterprise demand management, investment planning, and portfolio governance. Experience translating business strategy into funded transformation roadmaps. Strong understanding of Data Platforms, Cloud Ecosystems, Analytics, AI/ML, Generative AI, and Agentic AI architectures.
Experience leading enterprise product organizations and driving product-centric operating models. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing multimillion-dollar portfolios and budgets. Proven record of delivering measurable business outcomes through technology-enabled transformation.
Preferred Experience implementing Agentic AI, AI Agents, Autonomous Workflows, Multi-Agent Architectures, and Enterprise Copilot platforms. Experience establishing or managing AI Experience Marketplaces or Digital Product Marketplaces. Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, OpenAI, Agent Frameworks, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or enterprise AI ecosystems.
Experience in MedTech, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, or highly regulated industries. Strong understanding of Responsible AI, AI Governance, AI Risk Management, and regulatory compliance. Experience driving enterprise-wide adoption and change management programs.
Experience working with global and offshore delivery organizations.
