stay connected to what matters. As a Builder on the App Platform team, you'll write the iOS and Android code that the rest of Ring's mobile engineering organization depends on — the SDKs, frameworks
tooling that dozens of feature teams build on top of. This is a role for someone who loves mobile development and wants to go deep — whether that's modern Swift and Kotlin or React Native paired with strong native fundamentals — using the latest platform APIs, clean architecture
the kind of craftsmanship that holds up at the scale of tens of millions of users. You'll also work alongside engineers who are aggressively adopting AI across the development lifecycle
you'll be expected to use those tools well — not as a novelty, but as a real lever to ship better software faster. Key job responsibilities You will: - Build and maintain native iOS and/or Android platform components — SDKs, shared libraries, architectural primitives
developer tooling — used by feature teams across Ring - Write high-quality, well-tested code with performance, reliability
maintainability in mind - Use AI-powered development tools effectively across your day-to-day work: code generation, test authoring, code review, debugging, documentation
defect resolution - Contribute to the evolution of Ring's mobile architecture, identifying friction points and proposing improvements - Help maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, build systems
automated testing infrastructure for the mobile platform - Partner with feature teams to ensure platform components are easy to adopt, well-documented

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
operations experience - 3+ years of professional software development experience building mobile applications - 3+ years of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) development using modern tooling and architectural patterns — or 3+ years of production React Native (or comparable cross-platform) experience with working knowledge of the underlying native platforms - Hands-on experience with modern UI frameworks (SwiftUI/UIKit, Jetpack Compose
React Native) and modern concurrency patterns (Swift Concurrency, Combine, Coroutines, async JS) - Solid understanding of mobile fundamentals: app lifecycle, memory and performance, networking, persistence
testing - Experience writing and maintaining unit and UI tests
working within a CI/CD pipeline
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering
a related field - Working knowledge of both iOS and Android platforms
experience bridging React Native with native modules - Experience adopting AI-powered development tools (AI-assisted coding, test generation, code review, debugging) in real production work - Experience contributing to shared libraries, SDKs
platform components used by other teams - Experience with performance profiling and optimization on mobile devices - Exposure to streaming video, real-time communication (WebRTC, HLS, RTSP)
