- Your role
- The Packaging Excellence & Laboratory Engineer will own the testing and validation strategy behind HelloFresh's Packaging Excellence program, ensuring test plans are aligned with product, supply chain
- business risk priorities. This role goes beyond running tests: it's about making sure the right things are being tested, gaps in validation coverage are identified and closed
- results translate into actionable input for packaging and supply chain decisions.
- Your area of responsibility
- Define and own the testing strategy for packaging materials, aligning validation plans with food safety, supply chain and product goals
- Identify gaps in validation coverage and design new test protocols to close them
- Oversee and continuously improve use of mechanical testing equipment, climate chambers, leak testers, and related lab infrastructure
- Analyze test data to identify trends, risks, and root causes, report findings and validation status to stakeholders, flagging risks proactively.
- Own and evolve equipment/test Operating Procedures, ensuring methods reflect best practice.
- Partner cross-functionally (Packaging, Food Safety, Supply Chain) to ensure business decisions and disruption mitigation
- Maintain lab standards (5S) and ensure compliance with safety policies
- Your profile
- 2+ years of experience in materials testing, packaging engineering, or a related lab/engineering environment
- Degree or strong background in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Strong data analysis skills; comfort translating technical results into business-relevant insights
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with statistical or data analysis tools a plus
- Good English spoken and written, german is considered a plus
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills as well as team work mindset.
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance in the office required
