PRIMARY FUNCTION: As a Financial Analyst Accounting, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for key areas of Target’s vendor accounting and payments process for the India region.
The role requires ensuring adherence to internal processes and policy requirements, meeting service levels, and working effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support timely and accurate vendor payments. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Review payment requests received from various teams to ensure they are in accordance with Target policies and have appropriate approvals.
Review the accounting treatment of payment requests, including withholding tax, GST, and any other applicable taxes, in accordance with statutory provisions. Ensure payments are processed on a timely basis in line with internal policies and agreed payment terms.
Manage vendor-wise provisioning for monthly, quarterly and year end closure of accounts, including reconciliation of respective vendor accounts and ageing statements. Review monthly vendor & GL accounts at financial review meetings. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, Internal Audit, Statutory Audits, Internal Financial Controls (IFC), Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Monitor regulatory changes in India, keep the appropriate functions updated on potential impact, and recommend actions to be taken. Support initiatives within Target India for the implementation of key vendor payable related regulatory changes and updates to process documents.
Lead process improvement ideas to drive efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve quality. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualification
- CA/CMA/CIMA/CPA with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Good knowledge of Accounting and Accounts Payable functions for the India region.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with a strategic mindset focused on process efficiency and financial accuracy.
- Good interpersonal and strong communication skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP SAP will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations such as GST, TDS, Customs, FEMA, etc.
