The pay range is $135,000.00 - $243,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. The Corporate Affairs team stewards Target’s reputation, made up of teams including Communications that connect and counsel across the company to move our $100-billion business forward. Position Overview As a Director Communications, Enterprise Engagement, you will play a critical role in shaping how Team Target experiences, understands and engages with the company’s strategy, culture and leadership. You will own and lead the enterprise team communications strategy, ensuring communications channels, leadership engagement, storytelling and team member experiences are aligned, impactful and responsive to evolving business and team member needs.

You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution—defining communication direction, aligning cross-functional teams, and partnering closely with senior leaders and partner teams to bring stories, priorities and culture to life in meaningful and measurable ways.

Lead Enterprise Internal Communications Strategy Own and lead Target’s enterprise team communications strategy, ensuring team members understand, connect to and act on the company’s strategy, culture and purpose Develop communication vision and strategies that strengthen team belief, confidence and actions toward Target’s future Apply team member insights and engagement data to continuously improve communication effectiveness Drive Communications Channels & Storytelling Partner with the Activation Hub to lead the modernization of team member storytelling, creating more engaging, interactive and socially connected experiences that improve clarity, consistency and reach Own annual proactive storytelling planning and coordination for all enterprise experiential channels, including key enterprise meetings, leadership forums and engagement events In partnership with partner teams, experiment with emerging channels and formats to improve communication effectiveness and engagement Strengthen Leadership Engagement Build and oversee strategies that increase internal executive visibility and connection Develop communication tools, talking points and resources that equip a broad leadership audience to effectively communicate priorities with their teams consistently Improve communication cascade effectiveness throughout the organization by supporting leaders with regular guidance and direction Create Team Member Experiences & Advocacy Develop a forward-looking storytelling map for experiential storytelling opportunities that bring enterprise priorities and culture to life across headquarters, India and the field regularly Build team member advocacy and internal recognition programs that elevate Target’s culture, people and ways of working Identify opportunities to strengthen belonging, connection and engagement across Team Target Ensure Excellence in Outcomes Collaborate across all levels of the Communications team and other key partners across the enterprise to ensure communications efforts are aligned and effective Establish strong operating rhythms that support reliable and excellent execution Define success metrics, measure accordingly and adjust approaches based on insights and results Uphold high standards of quality across strategies, plans and communication outputs Serve as a steward of the company’s narrative and an advocate for the Communications team priorities to achieve the best outcomes for Target Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About You College degree or equivalent experience Relevant corporate communications experience Expertise in internal communications, employee engagement and executive communications Ability to manage ambiguity, facilitate meetings with senior leaders, resolve conflict, build consensus and collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization Creative thinker comfortable with trying new, learning fast and pushing the envelope of what’s possible Broad business acumen and experience in retail Critical thinking—ability to understand complex problems, identify root causes, draw enterprise connections and solve problems proactively Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to independently counsel leaders and represent Communications Strong executive presence and outstanding verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to identify, shape and elevate compelling stories that drive engagement, understanding and action among internal audiences This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs.

A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
