Machine/Equipment Set-up/Setter II
Job Description
Duties/ Responsibilities Maintain process control across all injection molding machines ensuring production is acceptable to quality standard . Implement necessary parameter changes to uphold quality standard . Optimize IMM cycles for efficiency , repeatability , and overall improved cycle time without compromising part quality.
Document critical process parameters for all molding machines daily, following QS and ISO control practices. Collaborate with team to efficiently change molds as needed in molding machines ranging from 17 to 400 ton . ITW has Nissei , Van Dorn, Cincinnati Roboshot , and Toshiba IMM.
Set up and troubleshoot secondary/ automation as required . Perform parameter adjustments to robot programs for efficient start-ups and production runs as necessary. Perform robotic programming, from simple pick and place to position al teaching.
ITW utilizes Yushin HOP 3/5 and YCII of various sizes . Perform material changes as required and maintain a proper flow of material during production runs. Extensive knowledge of processing with different resins is necessary. ITW uses different grades, some glass filled, of PP, PA66, PBT, Acetal and more.
Complete all required documentation according to safety, quality and production, following QS and ISO control practices. Responsible for quality control on individual shift including Blueprint reading, Digital Caliper, and Optical Comparator use.
Responsible for packaging the finished product, applying proper label, and date coding boxes (when needed to assist General Operators or during absences). Ability to operate a forklift for completion of daily tasks . Maintain a clean and organized production facility, adhering to 5 ’ s standards and practices.
Lead by example on the production floor, setting an efficient and hard-working standard for all employees. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a set-up/ process technician role. Experience with setting up new processes and launching molds is preferred but not required .
Knowledge of scientific molding principles, decoupled molding II. Experience working with 3-axis robot EOAT including standard swing type runner take-out and all access servo driven standard take-out robots . In depth understanding of all auxiliary process control and the effects that each piece of equipment has on the molding process/ cycle is necessary.
Including knowledge of waterflow and temperature, resin drying, shear heat, screw size and design, valve gate and hot runner controls, etc. Strong m echanical aptitude. Ability to lead, train, lead and take direction as necessary. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs intermittently.
