The Networking team is looking for a results-oriented Global Supply Manager for fiber optic cable. This individual will own supply planning and manufacturing capacity management with key fiber optic cable suppliers. They will partner with regional data center supply planning teams on forecast and will manage production planning with fiber suppliers. Our Global Supply Managers are experts in planning, supply chain, and materials management. They play a pivotal role in supporting the explosive growth of AWS by ensuring continuity of supply. Key job responsibilities - Create and execute supply planning strategies to meet the category, department, project and customer needs - Prioritize activities and align with stakeholders to deliver supply globally with a high degree of predictability - Manage supplier relationships and allocation of material to demands based on priority - Manage and optimize production capacity over a 12 month+ horizon - Be a subject matter expert in the production process, lead time, and supply chain dependencies of your materials - Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals - Identify and drive realization of opportunities for durable, relative advantage in your category A day in the life You will be working closely with multiple fiber optic cable suppliers to align production capacity to forecast, mitigate supply chain risks, optimize SKU mix in production, support regional data center planning teams with continuity of supply resolution. You will work closely with your Sourcing Manager counterpart and engineering to launch new fiber optic cable platforms. In this role you will be looking at "what's next" on the technology roadmap and working to build a supply chain that will enable new technology and best in class supply chain performance. About the team The Networking team is made up of global category managers (GCM), global supply managers (GSM), and product lifecycle managers (PLM) who manage the broad base of networking suppliers and internal amazon initiatives that help build the AWS cloud. We drive supply continuity, cost optimization, and technology introduction for networking hardware. We are located throughout multiple regional hubs in the united states and work with suppliers and business partners globally. - 2+ years of program, project or product management
